A bit removed from center of town
The 236-unit Fraser Suites Perth is an upscale property situated on the edge of Perth's Central Business District and overlooking the Swan River. Although it's a bit removed from the center of town, it's within walking distance of a supermarket, restaurants, the river, the Perth Mint, and the Queens Gardens. Suites are modern and sophisticated, and all have kitchenettes plus free Wi-Fi. Some have one or two bedrooms. The restaurant is highly regarded for its fresh, seasonal fare, and the lobby lounge is a hip place for drinks and light fare. The heated indoor pool is lovely for a swim, and the fitness center has a wide array of modern equipment. It can be pricey, so travelers looking for less expensive apartment-style rooms might consider Verandah Apartments Perth.
Scene
Modern, sophisticated long-stay property suitable for business and leisure guests
Fraser Suites offers sleek, elegant decor throughout, starting with the entrance, where lush plants, a modern sculpture, and a water feature set the tone for what's to come inside. The large, airy lobby is a striking space, with floor-to-ceiling windows, oversized modern light fixtures, and plush carpeting atop gleaming tile flooring. Sofas and chairs provide places where guests can gather for social or business chats, and there's an adjacent lounge for drinks and snacks. The property is ideally suited for business guests who need to stay in town for a while, though it also draws athletes, musicians, politicians, and TV celebrities. It doesn't quite hit the luxury mark, though, with its lack of butlers, slightly tired bathrooms, and missing spa, but the level of polish here is high. The property is also suitable for families, couples, and groups looking for a spacious place with extras such as kitchenettes and en-suite laundry facilities.

Rooms
Studios and one- or two-bedroom suites with kitchenettes, some with balconies and river views
Suites are available as studios, or with one or two bedrooms. All have kitchenettes, some with dishwashers, and many have washers and dryers. Decor is elegant and classic contemporary, with modern dark wood furniture, touches of velvet, and supple leather details. Color schemes are sophisticated shades of black, taupe, and gray, accented by understated abstract artwork. All suites are equipped with 40-inch flat-screen TVs, Sealy mattresses, air-conditioning, electric kettles, digital music players, work desks, and minibars. Wi-Fi is free, but we'd have loved to see proper espresso machines or maybe even butler service for this hotel to live up to its luxury claims. The one- and two-bedroom units have nice separate sitting areas and dining areas. Modern bathrooms feature tiled shower/tub combos or separate tubs and showers, plus L'Occitane toiletries, hairdryers, and scales. They're a little dated looking. Robes and slippers are provided. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out to the Swan River, the city, or cricket grounds and the Queens Gardens. Some units have furnished balconies -- views can be spectacular.
