Zing Resort & Spa

The Zing Resort & Spa was previously known as Ganymede Hotel. It has recently undergone a complete renovation, adding modern touches to the original Colonial-style decor. The hotel is geared toward adults and is known for being LGBTQ-friendly, with many guests coming to experience the nearby party scene. However, it stays surprisingly quiet inside the hotel despite being this proximity. The main entrance is marked by Greek-style columns leading to a small, bright lobby with a monochrome color scheme and highly-polished white tiled floors. The lobby is connected to small cafe with metallic tables and chairs, where guests can grab a coffee and cake over the morning newspapers. The hotel has a peaceful Turkish-style outdoor terrace with mosaic tiling and potted plants, surrounding a glistening blue swimming pool with sun loungers for tanning.

The hotel is located off a main road in the Jomtien Complex, a South Pattaya neighborhood that's popular for dining, partying, and people watching. It's known for its vibrant gay scene, and there are numerous bars and nightclubs within easy walking distance. Central Pattaya and the red-light district are around 15 minutes away by taxi, and there are plenty of cabs outside the hotel. Many guests rave about the massages from the Blind Massage Institute, which is located right next door to the hotel. The sands of Jomtien Beach are a five-minute stroll down the road, while Pattaya Water Park is a 10-minute taxi ride away. The Pattaya Floating Market and Khao Phra Tamnak Temple are a 20-minute drive from the hotel. Suvarnabhumi International Airport takes around 90 minutes to two hours to reach by car, though traffic can be a nightmare in the region (especially on weekends). There's also a bus station just a five-minute walk from the hotel.

The Zing Resort & Spa features 83 rooms and suites that range from basic to slightly more refined, though the look is at least modern across the board. Superior Rooms are more compact and have a no-frills look. Super Deluxe Rooms and Suites are more interesting, with design details including hardwood floors, chunky furniture, vibrant artwork or patterns, and big windows letting in plenty of natural light. Most rooms have furnished balconies, some with lovely pool views. Standard in-room amenities include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, electric kettles, safes, phones, and free Wi-Fi. The latter can be a bit touch-and-go. White-tiled bathrooms are simple, but clean, and all include stall showers and free basic toiletries. Suites add separate deep-soaking bath tubs. 

Amenities at the Zing Resort & Spa are geared toward adults and relaxation, with little to offer travelers that have young children in tow. There's a lovely outdoor terrace with sun loungers for tanning, plus a casual poolside bar selling beers and light snacks. The all-day restaurant serves both Asian and Western cuisines and has ample outdoor seating. There's also a cafe next to the lobby offering hot coffee, ice cream, and fresh coconuts. An extensive European breakfast buffet is available for a fee, consisting of bacon, eggs, beans, potatoes, toast, tea, and coffee. Room service is available, but hours are limited. Other facilities include a simple fitness room and a full-service spa with a sauna, hot tub, and steam room. In-room massages can be booked at the front desk. Guest services include a concierge, laundry, and airport transfers for a fee. Free self-parking is available, and there's also free Wi-Fi (though it can be spotty).
