Pros
- Outdoor heated pool with whirlpool and fireplace
- Delicious restaurants (including the rumored best burger in Utah)
- Fitness center with modern equipment
- Full-service ski locker room and ski valets
- Rooms have Jacuzzi tubs and satellite TV
- Upgrade to a suite for a full kitchen and fireplace
- Free shuttle to downtown Park City
- Free Wi-Fi
Cons
- Remote location for attractions outside of the immediate area
- Expansive grounds mean some rooms are far from dining areas
- Can be difficult to reach in winter storms
- Decor is not nearly as high-end as nearby St. Regis
Bottom Line
The luxurious 170-room Stein Eriksen Lodge offers ski-in, ski-out access to Deer Valley Resort, and has a design style that could be described as "wilderness chic." Rooms are spacious with lodge decor, comfortable bedding and clean bathrooms with Molton Brown toiletries. Besides the highly reputed spa, the two restaurants (make sure to try the Stein burger) and year-round outdoor pool with a large fireplace add to the lodge's popularity. The nearby St. Regis is one of the only properties in the area that compares.

Deer Valley is the ultra-luxe area of Park City, with glamour similar to that in Aspen. The heated sidewalks are lined with high-end restaurants and shops, the resorts are top-notch, and perks such as free ski valets and free shuttles to the slopes from the parking lots are season-long luxuries.
The Deer Valley slopes are well-groomed, and many 2002 Winter Olympics events took place here. But no snowboarding events -- Deer Valley is one of only three ski resorts in the U.S. that prohibits snowboarding. Nonetheless, Deer Valley may be the most popular mountain in Park City. Tickets are limited by a daily maximum sold, but the slopes can be crowded.
