Bottom Line

This upper-middle-range property delivers modern style in a
traditional Parisian building. There are 17 apartments and studios, each with a chic bedroom and bathroom, and a small but
smart kitchenette equipped with all the cooking equipment guests might need. It doesn’t have a restaurant or fitness center,
but for travelers who like to do their own thing, Residence Nell is a stylish

Scene

Modern, French elegance

This traditional Parisian apartment block has ornate
archways above some of the windows and decorative wrought iron balconies. The
entrance itself to Residence Nell is inconspicuous -- simply a plain door set
back from the street with the hotel name subtly etched on the glass. Once
inside, the lobby gives a taste of the simple, elegant and modern rooms above.
An enormous, classical French oil painting covers one wall, while the others
are paneled and painted in a chic French gray. A small reception desk of the
same color sits in the corner. From there, guests can access their apartment
via the elevator or a charming spiral staircase

Location

Perfectly placed for seeing the sights

Set on the corner of a bustling street, above a classic French brasserie in the 9th arrondissement, Residence Nell is
surrounded by places to eat, drink, and shop. It is a safe neighborhood but can
be a little noisy at night due to the numerous restaurants and bars. It’s also
perfectly placed for getting around the center of Paris. Some of Paris’ top
attractions are within walking distance -– the Opera-Galeries
Lafayette is 10 minutes on foot. In 20 minutes you can walk to Montmartre-Sacré
Coeur, the Pompidou Center, and the Louvre,
but it’s also easy to get to these places and the Eiffel Tower by Metro. Within
a five-minute walk from the property, there are four different Metro
stations -- Cadet, Le Peletier, Richelieu-Drouot, and Grands Boulevards. These
easily connect passengers to the rest of the city. For those driving in, there is also a public car park about a five-minute
walk from the hotel.

Rooms

Stylish, with lots of amenities

The bedroom sizes vary, but most have a decent
amount of floorspace. The Studio is notably generous for that class of
apartment. Each one is decorated identically -- plain white bed linen, French
gray walls, and wooden parquet flooring. There are reading lights set into the
headboards, plain, white floor lamps, and contemporary, cubic bedside tables. It’s
all simple, chic, and modern. In-room facilities include free Wi-Fi, flat-screen
TV with satellite channels, iPod docking station, climate control, laptop-compatible
safe, espresso maker, bathrobes, hairdryer, iron, and ironing board. It’s well
set up for families as connecting rooms are available, and cribs or infant beds
can also be provided for an additional fee. There are plenty of large windows giving
lots of natural light and different views of the streets below. Some noise from the street can drift up at night though, so rooms on higher floors are quieter. Each apartment
is immaculately kept and the beds -- including the sofa beds -- are comfortable. Bathrooms are entirely covered in modern, mosaic tiles --
mainly in a natural stone color, but with splashes of blue thrown in. There are
luxurious touches like huge rainfall showerheads, underfloor heating, and
designer toiletries. All levels of apartment have a kitchenette and small dining table and chairs, and all but the Studio has a separate sitting area too. The kitchenettes are well-equipped and contemporary. They have sleek, high gloss units, a built in microwave, and spotlights under the wall cabinets. Also provided is a burner, fridge/freezer, and all the cutlery, crockery, pans, and utensils guests might need.

Features

No restaurant but plenty of in-room dining options

There's no restaurant here but the property can provide a continental breakfast for an additional
charge. 24-hour room service is also
available and there are around 20 menus to choose from -- all from local eateries
which the hotel partners with -- and the food takes around 20- to 40-minutes to
be delivered to each apartment by the hotel staff. Free Wi-Fi is available for guests throughout the property.
