Bottom Line

The pet-friendly, Millesime Hotel is a fairly simple, yet stylish, three-pearl property that features a beautiful 16th century breakfast room, bar, and Tuscan-style courtyard patio. Twenty contemporary guest rooms include minibars, flat-screen TVs, and coffeemakers along with rainfall showers. Suites offer wonderful city views and a bit more space. It's too bad that breakfast costs extra, though Wi-Fi is free and there is room service within limited hours. The Saint-Germain-des-Pres location is picturesque and close to restaurants, while the Notre Dame Cathedral and Louvre are a 15-minute walk away. Similar features can be found at Hotel le Clos Medicis, closer to the Latin Quarter, where rooms can be had at a lower price point.

Scene

A historic hotel with romantic charm

A contemporary style runs through the welcoming lobby set with Scandinavian-style seating, arched windows, and light wood floors. A small lounge bar provides seating around an attractive fireplace, as well as in a beautiful outdoor patio area with potted flowers and plants. The cozy refurbished breakfast area is actually a 16th century arched cellar with original stone walls and no windows. The hotel added new modern seating and lighting after our visit, matching the contemporary look of the lobby. Hallways are painted gray and all room doors feature contemporary, bold gold numbering. Families with older children occasionally stay here, but most visitors are international couples.

Location

Saint-Germain-des-Pres neighborhod on the Left Bank

The Millesime Hotel is on a
one-way street in the Saint-Germain-des-Pres district, one of the city's most chic and trendy areas. Place Furstenberg,
Palais Abbatial, shops, bars, and restaurants are a five-minute walk away. The
metro, Place Saint-Germain-des-Pres, and the Eugene Delacroix Museum are also a
five-minute walk, while major Parisian landmarks like the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, and the Luxembourg Gardens are a 15-minute walk from the hotel. The metro can make trips to Montmartre and the Eiffel Tower in around 35 minutes. Gare du Nord Train Station is a
15-minute drive from the hotel while Orly Airport is 20 minutes away by car or cab, and Charles de
Gaulle Airport is a 30-minute drive. Guests should keep in mind that parking isn't available at the hotel.

Rooms

Contemporary with gorgeous tile bathrooms and rainfall showerheads

Contemporary rooms are decorated with eye-catching blue and tan carpets, gray curtains, and a subtle diamond pattern on light blue walls. Light wood furniture, reading lights, and built-in gray
bench seating also adorn the rooms, and there are large windows that give rooms plenty of natural light. Each
room has a set of hand-drawn illustrations and abstract-shaped light wood headboards. Amenities include fully-stocked minibars, wall-mounted flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, and coffeemakers. Suites have sofa
beds plus exceptional city views. Modern, neutral-tiled bathrooms offer
light wood vanities that pop against dark blue walls, and heated towel racks and makeup mirrors are a nice touch. Neutral tile shower/tub combos have rainfall showerheads while Suites
have jetted tubs. Damana toiletries are provided. Some bathrooms lack
counter space and some only have showers.

Features

Free Wi-Fi and a charge for breakfast

There isn't a full restaurant -- though the hotel added a lovely bar with patio seating after our visit -- and breakfast with fruit, coffee, pastries, meats, cheeses, yogurt, breads, and coffee, costs extra. Room service is available with limited hours. There's a computer for guests to use in the lobby and free Wi-Fi throughout the property. Pets are welcome for an additional fee.
