The upper-middle-range Hotel de Latour Maubourg is a boutique property in Paris’ posh 7th Arrondissement that's a 15-minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. The 17 individually decorated rooms have exceptional vintage-modern decor with en-suite
bathrooms and air-conditioning, but guests complain of hearing their neighbors and Classic Rooms are tiny. Perks include a steam room and
on-site bar in addition to free Wi-Fi. Breakfast is also available, though it costs extra. Guests looking

Scene

A historic and charming boutique hotel

The intimate Hotel de Latour Maubourg is housed in a historic 1865 mansion from the Napoleon III era -- and it looks the part. Wrought iron
balconies with potted flowers and attic windows adorn the limestone exterior. The interiors offer a blend of similarly antique features and modern trends. The
charming, spacious lobby has vibrant contemporary chandeliers and wildly colorful vintage chairs that look sharp against original marble fireplaces and moldings. Pops of bright pastel
colors in the table runners and chairs accent the vaulted stone walls in the
breakfast room, which has a cozy atmosphere, and there is a courtyard terrace in warmer months. Guests are mostly couples.

Location

In the 7th Arrondissement, a 15-minute walk to the Eiffel Tower

The Hotel de Latour
Maubourg is in Paris' posh 7th
Arrondissement, one of the city's most central neighborhoods, between the Eiffel Tower and the chic Saint-Germain-des-Pres area. The La Tour-Maubourg Metro station is adjacent
to the hotel, and tons of restaurants and shops are within a one-minute walk in any direction. The Rodin Museum and
Les Invalides can be reached in less than 10 minutes on foot, while the Eiffel Tower and Champs-Elysees are a 15-minute walk from the hotel. The Louvre
and Notre Dame Cathedral are both 10-minutes away by car, though both can easily be reached by the metro or RER trains, which stop at Invalides. The Musee d'Orsay is also about 15 minutes away on foot. Orly Airport can take 20 minutes to reach by taxi, without traffic, while Charles de Gaulle Airport is
a 30-minute drive away, though travel times go way up at peak hours. Both airports are also reachable by public transit.

Rooms

Mix of antique and modern styles with en-suite bathrooms and air-conditioning

Rooms at the Hotel de
Latour Maubourg are individually decorated with a contemporary yet antique
style. Higher category rooms can be fairly spacious by Parisian standards, but Classic Rooms are tiny, at just 13 square meters (140 square feet). Light fixtures, furniture, and paintings speak to the Napoleon III vibe, while the boldly patterned wallpaper used in some rooms, or the vibrant color palettes, adds a modern touch. Some rooms have wooden ceiling beams and original marble fireplaces, upping the charm factor, as well as minibars, iPod docking stations, welcome trays with Champagne and macarons, and
balconies with views of Les Invalides. All rooms are air-conditioned and have
flat-screen TVs and coffeemakers plus bathrobes and slippers. Turndown service is offered free of charge The Junior Suite even has an exercise bike. Contemporary en-suite bathrooms offer heated towel racks and toiletries, with either tile showers with rainfall showerheads or
shower/tub combos; some have lovely clawfoot tubs. Guests do complain that the walls are thin, and noise from outside and inside the hotel can be an issue.

Features

Steam room plus on-site bar, free Wi-Fi, and pet-friendly policy

Purple tile runs from floor
to ceiling in the lovely steam room while the bar offers cocktails, wine, and
beer. Wi-Fi is free and pets are allowed with a daily fee. A computer and
printer are offered in a charming lounge, and there is room service
as well as concierge services provided by the 24-hour front desk. Room service does have limited hours. A breakfast buffet includes veggies, yogurt, cakes, meats, and fruit, but costs
extra. No on-site parking is provided.
