Hotel Belloy Saint-Germain

The Hotel Belloy Saint-Germain is a 19th century building on the Left Bank of the Seine, with a cozy, homelike atmosphere and upscale prices. The six-floor hotel features a third floor balcony that wraps around the front of the building that’s also adorned with white window shutters, brown awnings on the bottom floor, and two columns that flank the entrance. Formerly known as the Hotel des Etrangers, the hotel’s lobby is decorated in red carpeting, with exposed stone walls, red velvet sofas, classic furniture, and a bookshelf with books, games, and toys for kids. Free tea and coffee is often served in the lobby. Large lobby windows, with striped shades, look out onto Racine Street, which runs in front of the hotel. A brown carpeted staircase winds around a small, old-fashioned elevator, one of two on-site. Overall the atmosphere is inviting and polished.

The hotel is located in Saint-Germain Des Pres and surrounded by universities, shops, restaurants, cafes, theaters, and bars. In walking distance are the Cluny Museum, Pantheon, Luxembourg Gardens, Left Bank bookstores, the Seine, Notre Dame Cathedral, and Charlemagne Statue, where there are Latin Quarter tours. The Cluny - La Sorbonne Metro station -- with the 10 line -- is four blocks away. It’s a 30-minute Metro ride to the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, and Champs-Elysees. The Louvre Museum is a 10-minute drive. The Paris Orly Airport is 21 minutes away by car. The Charles de Gaulle Airport is a 40-minute car trip.

Guests can choose from Suites, Junior Suites, Standard, Superior, Deluxe, Triple Deluxe, and Family rooms with country chic furnishings, black and white Paris photos, floral or plaid draperies, white classic furniture, and rattan headboards. Features include minibars filled with free beverages, safes, air-conditioning, electric kettles, and balconies, in select rooms. Windows and balconies overlook the Saint-Germain Des Pres neighborhood. Small bathrooms are clean and modern with hair dryers, showers, or shower/tub combos. Candies and snacks left in rooms for guests are a nice touch. Irons and ironing boards are available on request. Some suites have exposed wooden ceiling beams. Cribs and room service are also offered. 

The hotel offers a small business corner with a PC computer that’s located in the lobby, near the staircase. There’s also a cellar breakfast room that’s cozy with curved ceilings, exposed stone walls, classic wooden furniture, a highchair, and a buffet counter. Also available at the front desk, along with concierge services, are safe deposit boxes. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
