Un Hotel a Bastille

A simple and contemporary design runs throughout this chain hotel. Despite the signature gray-and-lime-green signage of the Campanile logo, many parts of the hotel have a red-and-brown color scheme. The dimly-lit lobby is a combination of a reddish-brown wooden front desk and blond-wooden paneled walls paired with burgundy bar stools and potted plants that add a dose of fresh greenery. Aside from that, there's little in the way of furnishings. The breakfast room is similar in style with red and gray chairs surrounding blond-wood tables, as well as large windows overlooking the courtyard garden that fill the space with light. The hotel is popular among couples who can be seen in the breakfast room in the mornings, as well as families attracted by the budget-friendly rates and family rooms. 

The Campanile is located in the historic Le Marais neighborhood, known for its art galleries and vibrant LGBT community. Place de la Bastille, where the Bastille prison stood, is a seven-minute walk away, as is Place des Vosges, the oldest square in Paris. The Picasso National Museum is a 13-minute walk from the hotel. For those interested in Paris nightlife, the trendy area of Oberkampf is also 13 minutes away on foot. But Paris' most iconic attraction, the Eiffel Tower, is a 24-minute cab ride away. Guests can also take the metro to the Eiffel Tower (a 41-minute ride) and other attractions, and a metro station (Bréguet – Sabin) is just a minute’s walk away. It's about a 45-minute drive to the Charles de Gaulle Airport, while the Orly Airport can be reached in a half-hour to 40 minutes.

The hotel's small rooms have a gray-and-lime-green color scheme that includes gray headboards and curtains as well as lime green pillows, open closets, and trays with coffee/tea facilities. There is little else in terms of decor, but the vibrant color helps keep things cheerful, though there's not much storage space. But rooms can cater to a variety of travelers with their sizes, which include single-, double-, triple-, and quadruple-size rooms. Amenities include flat-screen TVs, coffee/tea makers, work desks, free Wi-Fi, and air-conditioning, though some complaints have been made concerning maintenance issues with the AC or heater. Some rooms have private terraces that are furnished with tabled, chairs, and lounge chairs. The bathrooms are quite small, though some family-size room bathrooms have a bit more space. They include little counter space, hairdryers, showers, and illuminated mirrors with shelf space. Note that the hotel doesn’t provide individual toiletries, only soap and shampoo dispensers. 

The best feature at Campanile Paris 11 – Bastille is the breakfast room where a daily breakfast of pastries, meats, cheeses, coffee, fruit, and cereal is served, though guests should note that it’s not free. There’s a lobby bar that serves drinks, a vending machine, and a small gift shop with Paris-themed items. An attractive outdoor courtyard has a lovely garden of bushes and trees as well as seating in the form of benches, tables, and chairs. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, and pets stay for free. Parking is available for a fee, as is a shuttle to the airport, though a shuttle service from the airport to the hotel is not available.
