Marriott’s Legends Edge at Bay Point

The Marriott’s Legends Edge at Bay Point is a family-friendly hotel located within a gated community, with facilities and villas that attract mostly families and couples, many of whom are timeshare owners. While the hotel is quite large, comprising two six-story buildings overlooking the lagoon pool and the bay, the red-brick driveway and white siding at the entrance lend a beachy and homey feeling. Grounds are well-maintained with palms and a lawn on the edge of the bay, where there are swaying reeds, a fire pit, and white rocking chairs. The heated pool, hot tub, and kiddy pool are the center of the action, surrounded by tropical landscaping and a deck that offers a wheelchair lift, beige lounge chairs, and a few blue-and-green-striped umbrellas. A barbecue area is near the pool, as well, with two large grills for guest use. Skylights in the gym brighten the room, which is well-equipped and modern. There is certainly not a spring break party scene here, so guests can expect an easygoing vibe throughout. 

Located within a gated community, the hotel is on the Saint Andrew Bay and within a half-mile of the Meadows Course and the Jack Nicklaus Course, both at Bay Point Golf & Tennis Club. The immediate area is residential, and within a five- to 10-minute walk of ferry and charter boat cruises at St. Andrew Bay Ferry Company and Bay Point Marina, respectively. There’s no restaurant on-site, but there are a few steak and seafood restaurants within five miles. St. Andrews State Park is a 10-minute drive, and families can reach Coconut Creek Family Fun Park and Gulf World Marine Park within 15 to 20 minutes' drive. It’s about a 40-minute drive to the Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport. 

Villas are decorated with a palm tree motif, including wall art, bedside lamps, and curtains. The decor overall is bright and cheerful, with blue accent walls, charming light wood furniture, and gray patterned carpeting. Each has two bedrooms, a living room with sofa-bed, dining area, full kitchen, washer/dryer combo, and casually furnished balcony or patio with lagoon or resort views. Each has two bathrooms; the master bathroom has a soaking tub and separate shower, while the other has a shower/tub combo. All Villas are air-conditioned and have free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs with DVD players, and safes. Kitchens have dishwashers, full-size refrigerators, microwaves, electric ranges, coffee/tea makers, and cutlery/dishes. Bedrooms may feel a bit small for some guests, and lack desks. Walls tend to be thin, as well. 

The Marriott’s Legends Edge at Bay Point is a fully equipped hotel, offering family-friendly indoor and outdoor activities. A 10-seat theater screens TV shows and movies on a flat-screen TV. Guests have access to a large pool, a kiddy pool with splash pad, and a hot tub. There are also a playground for kids, and oversize chessboard, a ping-pong table, and a putting green. There’s a small market inside the hotel that sells snacks, beverages, and sundries. Concierge services, as well as a notary, faxing and copying services, and package deliveries are also offered. The gym offers circuit training equipment, free weights, fresh towels, and a water cooler. Both parking and Wi-Fi are free.
