Beachside on Front Beach Road in Panama City
The Emerald Beach Resort is on the less-crowded west end of Panama City's long white stretch of beach. It is just minutes from area favorites like the shopping and dining complex Pier Park and Shipwreck Island Water park. In this part of Florida however, a car is needed to travel even short distances. Emerald offers shuttle services and taxis are available but these costs add up quickly.
Panama City is a Florida family beach town with all that implies. The area is full of put-put golf, amusement parks, shopping, and the beautiful St. Andrews State Park. The park has the virtues of white sand beaches, nature trails, and plenty of opportunities for water sports. The immediate area is also home to some challenging golf courses Panama City also has a downtown area with more vintage charm than most similar beach towns. Downtown, visitors can find seasonal events and art shows as well as live music and shopping.
