Cabana Cay sits on Front Beach Road, the main boulevard running along the Gulf Coast in this part of the Florida panhandle. Though a car is needed for sure in this part of the state, celebrated golf courses, kids attractions and some of the area's best beaches are all within a half-hour's drive. Cabana Cay is within walking distance of Panama City's white sand beaches, though it is not a short walk.Panama City is a Florida family beach town with all that implies. The area is full of put-put golf, amusement parks, shopping, and the beautiful St. Andrews State Park. The park has the virtues of white sand beaches, nature trails and plenty of opportunities for water sports. Panama City also has a downtown area with more vintage charm than most similar beach towns.
