The two-pearl Quality Inn at Lake Powell is a good value for tourists seeking comfortable accommodations for a couple days of sightseeing. It’s an older, motor court-style hotel, but its 129 guest rooms are cozy and nicely furnished. All have balconies or patios, flat-screen TVs, and coffeemakers, and some contain microwaves and mini-fridges. There are ample freebies, including a hot buffet breakfast, Wi-Fi throughout, on-site parking, and shuttle service to the airport, plus there's an outdoor pool and a laundry room. However, there's no elevator to access the second and third floors. Rates are attractive but like other hotels in Page, they spike in peak season, when rooms can be hard to find. A good alternative is the nearby Best Western View of Lake Powell Hotel, but it's pricier.
Scene
A busy hotel with a relaxed vibe hosts a diverse mix of international tourists
Travelers from around the world come to experience the scenic Southwest year-round, so it’s not unusual to hear several languages bandied about in the lobby or cafe. Tour groups also frequent the hotel, so lines for the breakfast buffet can be long at peak times. Despite this, it’s a relatively peaceful property where it’s common to see guests sitting on their patios and balconies after a day of sightseeing, taking in the spectacular sunset. In colder months, people gather in the lobby on rustic, leather furniture around the fireplace, and in summer, the most popular spot on-site is by the outdoor pool.
Location
In downtown Page, a short walk to several restaurants and close to area sights
The Quality Inn is situated on small hill in downtown Page. It's well-located, within a short drive of restaurants and area attractions. Two steakhouses are within a two-minute walk from the hotel, and there's a Safeway supermarket and a pharmacy that takes about 10 minutes to reach on foot. There's also a Walmart roughly a 10-minute drive away. The Glen Canyon Dam on Lake Powell is a six-minute drive, and scenic Horseshoe Bend on the Colorado River is an eight-minute car ride. Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park is a 12-minute drive, and Antelope Canyon is 17 minutes by car. The South Rim of the Grand Canyon and Flagstaff are approximately two-hour car rides. Page Municipal Airport is only a five-minute drive from the hotel.
Rooms
Comfortable with pleasant decor, plus balconies or patios, coffeemakers, and free Wi-Fi
Despite being an older, motor court-style hotel with corridors that are a bit dark and dingy, the property is generally well-maintained. The King we saw (Double Queens also are available) had quality, matching wood furniture, including a handsome armoire and headboard. Guest rooms are tidy and comfortable, and decor has an appealing, cozy-cabin feel with warm hues. There are burnt orange bedspreads, chocolate-brown accent walls, and attractive contemporary lamps flanking beds. Units show minimal wear-and-tear, but they all offer patios or balconies with two chairs and a table, plus AC, flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers, irons and ironing boards, and free Wi-Fi, and some have mini-fridges and microwaves. Bathrooms are basic but pleasant, with granite vanities and modern fixtures, and they're outfitted with stall showers or shower/tub combos, plus hairdryers and toiletries. Many rooms feature panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and even distant views of Lake Powell, but others face the large parking lot.
