The weather-worn and unattractive Crowne Plaza Hotel is attached to the majestic, baroque-style 18th-century Heytrop Park manor house, and it's hard not to make unflattering comparisons between the two. They share the same picturesque and expansive grounds and little else. Interiors, however, are swish and stylish with elegant contemporary touches such as circular red ceiling lights, sheer red drapery, and velvet furnishings in crimson and silver. The atmosphere is businesslike and modern, and attracts mostly corporate guests and conference attendees.
