This all-suites property offers 150 more or less identical rooms, all with separate living rooms and bedrooms plus microwaves, mini-fridges, and multiple flat-screen TVs. Pull-out sofa beds make it ideal for families needing easy access to the nearby airport, though plenty of guests come here on business. Along with a free business center with printing services, the hotel offers multiple meeting rooms, free Wi-Fi, an indoor/outdoor pool, and a 24-hour fitness center, plus a restaurant with room service and both buffet and a la carte offerings for all three meals. Scene
Three-story chain hotel with central courtyard and sleek lobby, popular with transiting families and cruise passengers
Sheraton Suites occupies a three-story building laid out in a horseshoe configuration around a central courtyard with a grassy area and an outdoor pool lined with palm trees. Guests enter into a modern lobby staged with brown sofas and orange faux-leather pincushion stool chairs, plus round dark-granite coffee tables and coordinating brown-and-orange patterned rugs. A large internet area with computers sits at the center of the lobby, and there's a restaurant at the end. Music is pumped in, but it's quiet enough not to be obtrusive. The hotel gets a solid mix of guests, including a mix of families on the weekends, business travelers, and transiting cruise passengers.
Location
On a lake-facing cul-de-sac, a short drive north of the Orlando International Airport
This hotel is located in a quiet cul-de-sac encircling a lake that it shares with a number of other hotels and the Consulate of Colombia. It's located directly north of the Orlando International Airport, and the area is almost entirely dominated by airport hotels, gas stations, and chain restaurants (IHOP, Denny's, Carrabba's Italian Grill) with a handful of random shops and grocery stores here and there. Downtown Orlando is about a 20-minute drive from the hotel, while it takes closer to 25 minutes to get to Universal Studios. The Disney parks take more than a half-hour to reach depending on traffic, as does Sea World and the Orange County Convention Center.
Rooms
Neutrally decorated business-style rooms with wet bars, flat-screen TVs, and separate living rooms and bedrooms
This all-suites property offers a variety of suites distinguished primarily by their views. Courtyard Suites make up the majority of rooms here, and each comes with either one king bed or two double beds and look out either on the parking lot or towards the interior of the hotel. All the other room categories come with king beds, including the Pool View Suites. Eight rooms have either balconies or patios and there are seven alter-abled rooms for wheelchair users. Room decor is neutral with beige carpeting and matching black-out curtains, dark-wood cabinets and tables, and white bed linens with coordinating white bedside lamps. French doors lead from bedrooms to the living areas, which follow a similar decor scheme with beige chairs and pull-out sofa beds and just a few muted pops of color in the form of orange throw cushions and matching orange and lime-green wall art that harken back to the 1970s. Amenities include two flat-screen TVs per room (one in the living room and one in the bedroom), desks, and wet bars with microwaves, mini-fridges with separate freezer compartments, and coffeemakers with Starbucks coffee. Safes and irons with ironing boards are also provided. Wi-Fi is free in rooms and throughout the hotel. Generic bathroom vanities are located in the main bedrooms and have long granite countertops and big mirrors. Toilets and shower/tub combos are in a separate room. Hairdryers and toiletries are provided.
Features
Indoor/outdoor swimming pool, multiple conference rooms, restaurant with room service, and a 24-hour snack bar
This Sheraton has a whole host of great features for both leisure travelers and those in Orlando on business. At the heart of the hotel is an indoor/outdoor swimming pool that's heated throughout the year. The indoor section of the pool is directly in front of the restaurant and has a whirlpool hot tub off to one side. However, note that the indoor section is sometimes closed off to cater to private dining and events, at which point only the outdoor section of the pool is available for swimming and lounging. A door leads from the indoor pool area to the hotel's 24-hour fitness center, which offers Life Fitness cardio machines along with a resistance machine and a few weight machines. For business travelers, there's a 24-hour business center that's free to use along with a wide selection of meeting rooms, the largest of which can accommodate up to 70 guests theater-style. Wi-Fi is available around the clock, free of charge, and there's plenty of free on-site parking. The hotel also offers free shuttles to the nearby airport, available 24 hours a day. Coin-operated laundry facilities are placed on every floor. Dining options include the main Sky Grille Restaurant, which serves buffets for all three meals and a la carte options. Along with a few healthy options, guests will find plenty of classic meat-heavy dishes plus burgers, beers, and cocktails from the adjacent Sky Bar. Room service is available when the restaurant is open, but it's not available 24/7. However, the hotel does have a 24-hour grab-and-go snack bar, Sky Express, with salads and sandwiches.
