This Best Western is like many mid-range properties in the Disney area; it offers affordable rates and a location within easy reach of Disney attractions. Although the hotel is technically within walking distance of Disney theme and water parks, it offers a free shuttle that runs every half hour and other freebies like Wi-Fi and parking pack on the value. However, while rooms are clean and modern, decor is bland and some rooms feel small by Orlando standards.
Scene
Attracts both families and business travelers
Despite its clientele -- mostly made up of families -- this property is relatively quiet and technically sits on the Disney World grounds. Its grounds are relatively small, but include a gazebo area, 4,000 square feet of meeting space, and a small outdoor pool that stays open late.
Location
On the sprawling Disney World grounds, but a significant walk from the downtown area of the complex
Technically sitting on the sprawling grounds of Disney World, this Best Western is located on the main thoroughfare that leads to Disney – but traffic is usually surprisingly calm. Once at the hotel, many attractions are within easy reach; Downtown Disney and numerous restaurants are within walking distance, and the hotel provides a free shuttle to Disney parks like the theme parks, water parks, and downtown area. Several golf courses are also just a short drive away, and the hotel provides ample free parking.
Rooms
Rooms are modern but bland.
Rooms here were updated in 2014 and include modern amenities like free Wi-Fi and large flat-screen TVs. Other basics provided are coffeemakers and mini-fridges. However, decor in standard rooms is relatively bland; picture gold bed runners, wooden accents, and metal outdoor furniture on the balconies. Updating to a suite, however, not only gets you more space -- with a fully-equipped kitchenette and separate living area -- but more contemporary decor with pops of color and pretty art installations like silk screens of outdoor scenes.
Features
Convenient freebies pack on the value.
Like many resorts in the area, the Best Western focuses on budget-minded families and business travelers, providing value-packing amenities like free Wi-Fi and parking, 4,000 square feet of meeting space, laundry facilities, a marketplace, and a free shuttle to Disney attractions. The heated outdoor pool with children's pool is a nice perk, but the tiny fitness center is a disappointment.
