One of the newer properties in Cannon Beach, the Lodges at Cannon Beach offers a total of eight two- and three-bedroom town homes, all with fully equipped kitchens, washer/dryers, and even separate garages. As a vacation rental complex, there's not much in terms of typical hotel amenities, and maid service is only once every three days. However, guests do get free passes to Cannon Beach Fitness. For those wanting a more traditional hotel-like stay, the Inn at Cannon Beach, right next door, is a better option and comes with free breakfast.
Scene
This townhouse complex is popular with families and large groups.
The Lodges looks a bit like a residential cluster from the outside, with eight wood-sided town homes grouped together just off a relatively quiet two-lane road. The town homes have attractive gray-stone accents and wood decks, and are surrounded by neatly kept lawns, shrubbery, and flowers patches, with tall pine trees at the edge of the property. There's not much in terms of common areas, which shouldn't pose a problem for most guests given that the townhouses themselves are massive. Guests are primarily families and groups looking for a self-catering, and often long-term, getaway.
Location
In the southern part of Cannon Beach, a short walk to the seashore
The Lodges at Cannon Beach is located at the south end of Hemlock Street, the main thoroughfare that runs through the beach town. It's right next to the Inn at Cannon Beach and across from Sea Leval Bakery and Cafe, a family-run establishment with a head baker who was trained in France. It's a five-minute drive (or half-hour walk) north to the main "downtown" area of Cannon Beach, home to lots of quaint art galleries, boutiques, and restaurants. The beach is a block-and-a-half away. Cannon Beach is a 90-minute drive from Portland and about an hour-and-45-minutes from the airport.
Rooms
Eight townhouses with full kitchens, washer/dryers, garages, and barbecues
The Lodges at Cannon Beach offers eight townhouse-style condos in two- and three-bedroom configurations. Units have open-plan living/dining/kitchen areas with wooden floors, nicely patterned area rugs, casual easy chairs and sofas in soft fabric and leather, and vaulted ceilings with exposed rafters strung with hanging lamp fixtures. The spaces are sunny overall (when weather permits) thanks to lots of large windows. All units have balconies, flat-screen TVs with DVD players, and modern kitchens with gas stoves, large ovens, oversized refrigerators, and stainless appliances. Each condo has its own large garage with a barbecue grill. Bathrooms are located off the bedrooms and have long double-vanities and shower/tub combos, or separate walk-in showers and soaking tubs with faux-vintage taps. Master bedrooms have transparent gas fireplaces that act as partial windows between the bath areas of the bathrooms and the rooms themselves. Towels are provided, as are toiletries.
Features
Free Wi-FI and guest passes to a nearby fitness club -- but little else
As the Lodges is essentially a vacation rental complex, there's not much in terms of typical hotel amenities. However, free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property and all guests get access to Cannon Beach Fitness.
