Knott's Berry Farm Hotel

This large and busy hotel focuses on family fun, which is evident from arrival. A costumed Snoopy delights the smallest guests by greeting kids in the lobby and paying daily visits to the Amber Waves restaurant. He also makes special goodnight appearances in the Snoopy-theme rooms on request. The expansive, two-story lobby is bright and festive, with lots of bright-orange accents in the carpet and leather chairs. Light wood and natural stone fronting at the restaurant entrance also brighten the space. Tan marble-tile floors lead up to the wooden front desk. Hallways leading to the Camp Snoopy Rooms are lined with characters from the beloved Peanuts comic strip. Even the bright green Astroturf covering the halls is festive. 

The hotel is located on a busy road in Buena Park, bordering Knott’s Berry Farm and Soak City waterpark. Walking to the entrances of both attractions takes about 10 minutes, and there are several restaurants along the way, including a TGI Fridays and the Knott’s Berry Farm Bakery. There's also a pharmacy, a Walmart, and a large retail complex with a cinema complex in the immediate area. The hotel operates a shuttle to Disneyland Park, which is about 15 minutes away depending on traffic. Angel Stadium of Anaheim, Anaheim Convention Center, and the Honda Center also are approximately 15 minutes away, while Newport Beach and Sunset Beach take around half an hour to reach. It's around a 30-minute drive to Orange County's John Wayne Airport, while LAX takes 45 minutes or more to reach depending on traffic.

The hotel offers both Standard and themed Camp Snoopy Rooms as well as Oversized versions of both. Standard Rooms have a tasteful and colorful motif that’s highlighted by bright-orange bedspreads and dark-green carpets with tan patterns. Camp Snoopy Rooms feature red headboards in the shape of doghouses with Snoopy sleeping on top, as well as Peanuts-themed artwork, navy bedspreads and drapes, and beige carpeting with a playful paw-print pattern. Standard amenities include safes, flat-screen TVs, and coffeemakers. Oversized Rooms add granite-topped bars with two bar stools, sinks, and mini-fridges. Bathrooms are consistent in both room types, with beige vanities placed outside small bathrooms with shower/tub combos. The bathrooms are small and dated, and some of them we saw could use a deeper cleaning. Oversized Rooms have larger bathrooms with roomy tan granite vanities inside.Past guests have reported that noise from the street and from other rooms can be heard rather easily. However, most guests find the rooms are clean, comfortable, and well maintained.

This hotel has amenities designed to appeal to both vacationing families and business groups, with features ranging from a kids' play area and a video game arcade to numerous meeting spaces (the Founder’s Ballroom can host events of up to 500 people). Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, and there's also a business center with internet access.The roomy Amber Waves restaurant and bar features classic American fare, such as burgers and pizza, and the resident costumed Snoopy makes appearances daily. An a la carte menu and buffet are available for breakfast, but it's not included in all room packages. Parking also is not included in many of the packages, but all guests receive a discount.  The heated outdoor pool is spacious and includes a kids' splash zone and an adjacent whirlpool. The fitness center also is large and well equipped, with several cardio and weight-training machines plus free weights. Other wellness facilities include lighted tennis and basketball courts plus a sauna and a steam room. The hotel operates a free shuttle to Disneyland, and sells tickets to area theme parks at the concierge desk. Valet laundry and dry cleaning are available, and there's a coin-operated laundry room on-site as well as a gift shop.
