Anaheim Marriott Suites

This large all-suite property delivers what you might expect from the Marriott chain: clean, contemporary interiors and plenty of features that make it a convenient base for area attractions. Though decor is chainlike and corporate, common spaces are bright, airy, and pleasant. Neutral hues and a sleek, modern style are enlivened by bright floral carpets, while large windows illuminate many of the spaces with natural light, like the hotel's pleasant SunSpot restaurant. Due to its proximity to Disney, most of the guests here are families with kids, so the vibe is upbeat and lively -- though the property also caters to business travelers with various facilities like meeting spaces. It's a convenient base for Anaheim adventures, but pesky daily fees for things like Wi-Fi and parking make guests feel like they're being nickel-and-dimed.

Location is one of the hotel's highlights, as it's a convenient base for Disneyland, which is just a 10-minute drive away. The property is situated in a fairly busy area that's home to several other hotels as well as lots of casual dining options, fast food, and stores like Target and Walgreens (which are just across the street). Besides Disney, other area attractions include the science museum, Discovery Cube Orange County (11-minute drive), the Santa Ana Zoo (13-minute drive), the Honda Center arena (14-minute drive), and Knott's Berry Farm (20-minute drive). Downtown Los Angeles is around a 40-minute drive from here, while Los Angeles International Airport is a 40- to 60-minute drive, depending on traffic.

Suite decor is standard chain fare that's uninspired and a bit dated, but pleasant enough. Suites are clean and spacious, pairing neutral beige hues with vibrant crimson accent walls in the bedrooms as well as red patterned armchairs and pull-out sofas in the living rooms.  Family Suites are also available and sleep up to six people. Framed prints and photos adorn the walls, and beds are topped with white linens. Traditional wooden furniture includes desks paired with ergonomic chairs, as well as dressers holding flat-screen TVs (in both bedrooms and living rooms), though furnishings and decor show some wear and tear. Other standard amenities include coffeemakers, irons/ironing boards, telephones, and alarm clocks, but Wi-Fi incurs a daily fee. Bathrooms are a bit small and could use updating; fixtures on the shower/tub combos are old. Toiletries and hairdryers are provided. Some rooms overlook concrete rooftops and the parking lot. 

The hotel has a pleasant outdoor pool that's surrounded by loungers as well as tables and chairs, plus there's a hot tub. Other wellness facilities include a fitness center that offers a good variety of cardio machines, as well as flat-screen TVs, towels, water, and snacks like apples; it's open 24/7.

Dining options include SunSpot restaurant, serving American classics for breakfast (not included in rates), lunch, and dinner. There's also a Starbucks cafe on-site. Room service is available. The hotel has a shop that sells snacks, drinks, and sundries. Other amenities include 10,000 square feet of meeting/event space and a business center that's open 24/7. On-site parking is available but incurs a daily fee, as does the use of Wi-Fi. Shuttle service to Disneyland is available for a fee.
