Bottom Line

The upscale Sahra Su Holiday Village & Spa is an all-inclusive hotel located in a remote area of Ovacik, offering free shuttle service to Oludeniz beach. On-site, guests have pools for the kids, for adults only, and for exercise and entertainment purposes (but not exclusively). The 117 rooms are modern and elegant, outfitted with flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and Wi-Fi, but safes require a fee. All have outdoor spaces and some have shared pools. Food at the restaurant food gets predominantly positive reviews and there are several bars serving alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. Other facilities include a sparsely equipped gym, spa with Turkish bath and sauna, kids' club, and theater. If Sahru Su is too secluded, try the four-pearl Club Belcekiz Beach Hotel, which has a prime oceanfront location.

Scene

Large resort with pools, tropical bungalows, and exciting entertainment

Sahra Su Holiday Village & Spa is a large, family-friendly property with an atmosphere most guests describe as friendly, fun, and relaxing. Children are kept busy at the kids' club and pool with a waterslide, while entertainment such as fire-eaters and acrobats appeals to both kids and adults. Despite the ongoing activities, its remote location and expansive grounds keep the property quiet. The design throughout is modern and elegant, utilizing lots of neutral tones with touches of beachy blues. The lobby has ample wood-framed seating under chandeliers, gold accents along the lobby bar and front desk, and panoramic windows. The main restaurant is a bit more plain, though patterned tiles and bright-white dining tables and chairs are still pleasant. However, manicured grounds dotted with lots of pristine pools and flowers, amid the surrounding mountains, are the real standout.

Location

Remote location with free hotel shuttle to the beach and plenty of taxis

Sahra Su is located in a remote area in Ovacik, and most guests take a taxi or the hotel shuttle to get around. Families will likely appreciate that it's a six-minute walk to Water World Aquapark. It’s a 15- to 20-minute walk up a hill to catch a public bus, while taxis can take guests into Oludeniz in 10 minutes. The hotel provides free shuttle service to Oludeniz Beach, which takes about 15 minutes. Similar to Oludeniz, the village of Hisaronu is 10 minutes away and has lively restaurants, bars, spas, and souvenir shops. For cultural attractions or shopping, Fethiye is a 20-minute drive away. At this seaside town, there’s a castle, amphitheater, museum, and ruins. Dalaman Airport is one hour from the hotel.

Rooms

Spacious, modern rooms or tropical-style bungalows with pools

The hotel has 88 rooms plus 24 bungalows, all of which are elegant modern, and decorated in mostly neutral tones. Though design varies by room type, all have wood floors, light-colored walls, and either white or two-tone wooden furniture. Patterned linens are either beige or pale blue and tan. Standard rooms are spacious and equipped with air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and tea- and coffee-making facilities, plus safes for a fee. Slippers are stored in the closets. Bathrooms are large with showers or shower/tub combos, hairdryers, toiletries, and retractable magnifying mirrors. All have furnished outdoor space, and eight are swim-up.Stand-alone bungalows have lovely high ceilings with exposed wood beams. The three-bedroom bungalows are large tropical-like units with straw roofs that hang over the sides. These have pleasant stone accents, living areas, and wet bars. These have Turkish baths, as well as a shared pool.

Features

Pools, restaurants, bars, gym, and Turkish bath with spa

This family resort delivers with ample facilities to keep kids busy. More than a few pools are on the premises, including the main pool, the adult-only relaxation pool, and one with a waterslide for children. Loungers and umbrellas are abundant, expect by the adults' pool. Guests can also take the hotel's free shuttle to the public Oludeniz Beach. The buffet restaurant has ample indoor and outdoor seating, and food receives predominately positive reviews. Many past guests praise the Turkish pancakes and the variety of salads and stews. During the day, the Snack Bar -- a large white pavilion with a grass roof -- is open and ice cream is offered in the afternoons. There are a few bars at the resort, with differing atmospheres. The lounge bar is more peaceful and has stunning views, while the lobby bar tends to get guests checking their phones for messages since the Wi-Fi reception is best in that area. The gym is housed in a large room with walls of windows, but there's not a lot of equipment and some of it is worn. Guests will find exercise programs, such as water polo or volleyball, at the pool. Lastly, the Turkish bath and spa, are a hit with guests.
