This upper-middle-range hotel offers stylish rooms and solid facilities, though it's a 10-minute drive to the beach and main strip in Oludeniz. The outdoor pool is a standout, plus there are a Turkish bath, spa, and sauna. Stylish air-conditioned rooms are outfitted with flat-screen TVs, minibars, and furnished balconies -- some with steps leading directly into the pool. When hungry, guests have a choice of a main (all-inclusive) or a la carte restaurant. This hotel caters more to adults than children, though that’s not to say kids won’t appreciate the pools and entertainment. Still, families may want to consider the Club Belcekiz Beach Hotel, which has more kid-centric features.
Scene
Stylish, modern hotel with lots of glass for unobstructed views
The Ocean Blue High Class Hotel is an upper-middle-range property with a modern and stylish design throughout. The lobby has gleaming marble floors, mostly neutral-tone seating plus a bright-blue round sofa, and glass walls that overlook the pool and gorgeous Babadag Mountains. The large, striking outdoor pool is the centerpiece of the resort; it has pretty mosaic tiling that stretches up onto the facade of the three-story buildings -- water flows down these panels. The white exterior also has blue-tinted glass balconies and blue-painted ceilings to continue the hotel's blue-and-white colors scheme. There is a small children’s pool, but there are few activities geared toward young vacationers. As such, most guests are couples or groups of friends.
Location
Pretty location surrounded by mountains, but car required to get to beaches
The hotel is located in the area of Hisaronu, only a few minutes from the center of town. Hisaronu has restaurants, bars, and souvenir shops, as well as a lively nightlife. However, getting to the popular main strip of Oludeniz and famous Blue Lagoon takes about 10 minutes by car. The hotel does offer a shuttle to the Blue Lagoon for free. Guests seeking a dose of culture can visit nearby Fethiye, which has a castle, amphitheater, museum, and ruins. By bus or taxi, it would be a 25-minute ride. Dalaman Airport is roughly an hour away by car.
Rooms
Soothing, stylish rooms with flat-screen TVs and minibars
Ocean Blue has 61 stylish rooms outfitted in soothing blue, brown, and tan hues, and white contemporary wood furniture with curvy lines. Air-conditioned rooms also have wood floors and desks accompanied with armless tufted chairs and large oval mirrors. Standard amenities include 32-inch flat-screen TVs, minibars stocked with water, soda, and beer, and free Wi-Fi. Only higher-category rooms have coffee- and tea-making facilities. Safes are located in the wardrobes but they require a fee. Bathrooms continue the elegant design with lovely marble-topped vanity sinks and matching curvaceous mirrors, plus mosaic-tiled showers. Toiletries and wall-mounted hairdryers are provided. Interconnecting rooms are available for families and groups.
Features
Stunning pool with comfortable lounge chairs and poolside services
The pool is a main feature for most hotels, but the one at Ocean Blue truly is a standout. It follows the outline of the building, butting up against the lobby and the swim-up rooms, plus it has walking bridges leading to its own island with lounge chairs. The mosaic-tiled panels along the building act as a water feature, allowing water to cascade down between balconies and spilling into the pool. The surrounding white loungers are comfy and sit under white umbrellas. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating and guests rave about the food and entertainment, especially Turkish night. There is an a la carte restaurant downstairs, which also comes highly recommended. A casual bar with ample seating is located poolside, serving beverages and snacks. The spa has a lovely gray-and-white-marble Turkish bath, colorful massage rooms, an indoor pool, and a wood sauna. The sauna and pool are free to use, but the other services require a fee. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel, but the signal can be spotty.
