Bottom Line

The 213-room, upscale Club Belcekiz Beach Hotel has an excellent oceanfront location close to plenty of restaurant and bars, as well as the famous Blue Lagoon. The hotel is also loaded with features: There are three pools -- a main pool, one for kids, and one for adults --  as well as three restaurants, multiple bars, a Turkish hammam, and spa. For more fitness, tennis and basketball courts, badminton nets, and a gym are all available. Children have a playground and plenty of daily activities to keep them entertained, too. Rooms have old-fashioned furniture and many are small, but flat screen-TVs, mini-fridges with juice and water, and kettles come standard. This a great family-friendly option, but couples may prefer the more intimate and stylish Oyster Residences.

Scene

Beachfront property with beautifully landscaped grounds

Club Belcekiz Beach Hotel's main draw may be its proximity to the sandy beach, but the grounds are equally impressive. Stone paths meander under arched arbors, past a fountain in a small lily pond, and amid lemon, lime, and olive trees. Seating areas are also sprinkled throughout, including a pavilion housing wooden couches with red-and-white striped cushions and another furnished terrace with bougainvillea and greenery that gives it a private feel.

The hotel's two-story buildings have clay-colored stucco facades with wrought-iron balconies, many brimming with bougainvillea, or white cement terraces for those on the ground floor. A main pool with kids' section and adult-only pool allow both families and couples to find an appropriate spot. Throughout the property, guests that look up to the sky are likely to spot paragliders soaring toward the beach. Guests are typically European (mainly Brits) or Turkish and many are repeat visitors.

Location

Along the beach and within walking distance of Blue Lagoon, restaurants, and bars

The hotel is located along the beach, near where area paragliders land. Guests can head to the public beach in front of the hotel or take the hotel’s free shuttle over to Sugar Beach, where the sand is softer and turtles can be spotted. The hotel has a deal with Sugar Beach which allows hotel guests to have free loungers and umbrellas. If guests forego the shuttle, Sugar Beach would be a 20-minute walk.

It’s only a two-minute walk to the main strip in Oludeniz, while it’s a 10-minute drive to the village of Hisaronu, which has several restaurants, bars, spas, and retail shops. For a more cultural experience, it’s a 30-minute drive to Fethiye, known for its castle, ruins, and amphitheater. Buses depart down at the beach for both Hisaronu and Fethiye. The Dalaman Airport is just over an hour’s drive northwest.

Rooms

Old-fashioned rooms in the main building or the quieter annex

The 213 air-conditioned rooms have an old-fashioned design consisting of wood floors, wooden furniture, pale-green or pale-blue walls, and linens with an Old-World design. Some rooms are tight on space, but all have furnished balconies or patios with views of the garden, pool, and/or mountains. The hotel has an annex on the other side of a road, where rooms are quieter. Rooms come equipped with plush armchairs, mini-fridges stocked with bottled water and juice, flat-screen TVs, and coffee- and tea-making facilities. Bathrooms have either black-and-white or maroon-and-white tiling, plus stall showers, wall-mounted hairdryers, and free toiletries. Wi-Fi is not available in rooms and in-room safes require a daily fee.

Features

A plethora of kid- and adult-friendly amenities

Club Belcekiz caters to both adults and kids, as evidenced by the main pool with separate kiddy pool and the adult-only pool for a quieter environment. A public beach is in front of the property, where loungers and umbrellas can be rented. Otherwise, guests can take a free shuttle to Sugar Beach, where guests are provided with free loungers and umbrellas. Daily activities and nightly entertainment are available for both kids and adults, plus there are sports facilities and a spacious playground. A somewhat small but well-equipped gym is available, as is a Turkish hammam and spa services. Free Wi-Fi is available by reception.

Several dining options include the buffet restaurant with gleaming tile floors and an arched white ceiling. Food gets rave reviews for quality and quantity, as well as its theme nights -- Thai and Sunday Roasts, for example. Spice and Pesto is an upscale a la carte restaurant featuring a lovely tiled terrace overlooking the lagoon. The popular HangOut restaurant offers casual alfresco dining beachside; it's not a part of the all-inclusive package but guests receive a discount. The hotel also has a pool bar, which has snacks as well as beverages, a snack bar, and a lobby bar, which mostly offers soda. Over by the adult pool, there is the Tranquil Bar.
