Bottom Line

The 33-room, three-pearl Belcehan Deluxe is close enough to the main strip in Oludeniz to be convenient but far enough to be quiet, plus under a 10-minute walk to the beach. The hotel offers stunning views of the paragliders sailing off the Babadag Mountains from the outdoor pool with separate kiddy pool. The furnished balconies (all with glass railings so as not to obstruct the views) and patios also deliver on vistas. Rooms are mostly contemporary and equipped with flat-screen TVs, minibars, and hairdryers, but the color palette is a bit drab. Free Wi-Fi is specific to the reception and pool areas. There is a well-reviewed restaurant on-site, as well as a bar that serves snacks and alcohol. Overall, Belcehan is a solid option for couples, but families may prefer the livelier Alize Hotel.

Scene

Modern hotel with lots of glass and wood, surrounded by pretty mountains

The colored-glass exterior of the Belcehan Deluxe is one of the more modern in Oludeniz, but the two colorful signs are a bit cheesy. Inside, the lobby has lots of glass and gleaming tile floors, topped off by a striking curvy wood ceiling. Its panoramic windows let in lots of light and there are contemporary gray chairs alongside white coffee tables. While the hotel is in the local style -- a three-story villa with red-tiled roof -- the stucco is painted beige and mint green (not the traditional white) and the balconies have contemporary glass railings. The terra-cotta outdoor pool deck is surrounded by tropical fauna and the pretty mountains, which guests can see paragliders flying over. There are no games or entertainment here that other area hotels, and as such, it has a quieter environment that appeals to couples.

Location

Conveniently located near restaurants and beaches

The hotel is conveniently located just off the main strip in Oludeniz, meaning it's just a two-minute walk to many bars, restaurants, and retail stores. There is a free bus in front of the hotel that goes to the beach, which takes about five minutes, though it’s only a five- to 10-minute walk. It’s about 10 more minutes walking to reach the famous Blue Lagoon. It’s a three-minute walk to the bus that goes to Hisaronu and Fethiye. Once on the bus, it’s a seven-minute drive to Hisaronu, a village with amenities similar to Oludeniz, or a 25-minute drive to Fethiye, which has a castle, ruins, and amphitheater. Dalaman Airport can be reached in about an hour by car.

Rooms

Large air-conditioned rooms with outdoor spaces

Although rooms lack the modernity of the rest of the hotel, they have a pleasant and bright design utilizing pine wood furniture, wood floors, and beds topped with blue blankets. They're spacious enough to move around comfortably and all have outdoor spaces furnished with chairs, though ground-level rooms lack the scenic views of the first- and second-floor balconies. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, and minibars with a handful of items, but there are no coffee- or tea-making facilities. They won’t have Wi-Fi unless they’re located close to reception or the pool and can pick up the signal. A safe for valuables is in the closet, but note there is a daily fee to use it. White-tield bathrooms are standard affairs, featuring shower/tub combos with a seat, granite countertops, and two stripes of red pebbles to add some personality. Shower gels and soap are provided, as are wall-mounted hairdryers.

Features

Large pool plus buffet restaurant

Belcehan Deluxe doesn't have a gym or daily activities, thus letting the large pool take center stage. It's a decent size and surrounded by lounge chairs, tables, and umbrellas, plus there's an adjacent small round pool for little children. Many guests also choose to walk or take a free bus to the nearby beaches. The restaurant is large and airy with a high wooded ceiling. It serves Turkish cuisine buffet-style and gets positive reviews for its quality and quantity. The attached Bistro at the hotel gets rave reviews. A casual poolside alfresco bar serves snacks but the hours are limited (although not for beverages). Tables and chairs are set up under a pavilion with a billiards table.
