Scene

A Mission Revival-style inn with a tranquil and personal feel

A peaceful atmosphere
emanates throughout this quaint hotel, which employs a Mission Revival style
from the inside out. White stucco and red roof tiles decorate the exterior,
with colorful mosaic tiles around the wrought iron entrance gate and sprinkled
throughout the property. Black and white checkerboard floors cover the small, cute lobby, accented with nature-themed artwork and wall-mounted birdhouses. A large wooden cabinet holds the extensive DVD library and a selection of locally made jewelry for sale. The wooden front desk is painted white and feels cozy and personal, topped off with a vase of flowers. Outside, the charming stone courtyard gives a relaxing spot for guests to rest at the wrought-iron chairs and tables below orange umbrellas. A jumble of planters, colorful flowers, and a central fountain adorn the space enhanced by the soundtrack of birdcalls. Many guests are couples looking for a quiet escape in nature. Note: There are no elevators.

Location

In a quiet area with galleries, restaurants, and shops in walking distance

While situated in a serene, residential neighborhood, the Su Nido Inn is still in the heart of Ojai. Shops, restaurants, and galleries -- including Ojai Art Center, galerie102, and the Ojai Valley Museum -- are within a five- to 10-minute walk. Ojai Olive Oil and
Lake Casitas are around a 15-minute drive, and guests can reach the coast -- including Ventura Pier and McGrath State Beach -- within about 30 minutes. Los Angeles International Airport
is about 90 minutes to two hours away, depending on traffic.

Rooms

Homey, bird-themed rooms with charming bathrooms, kitchenettes, and fireplaces

One- and two-bedroom suites are available, and all have a homey, cozy feel. Each is
individually decorated with a different bird theme, but all have a similar
Mission Revival style and silk flowers throughout. All suites have kitchenettes with Keurig coffeemakers, mini-fridges, microwaves, toasters, and free snacks and drinks replenished daily; some have cooking stoves. Suites have living rooms with gas fireplaces, tan tile floors, wood furniture, and patterned armchairs and/or couches in earthy and autumnal colors. Each suite is also equipped with a flat-screen TV and DVD player, and motion sensor lighting. Bedrooms have iHome clock radios and feather beds that receive rave reviews from guests. Some rooms have furnished terraces or balconies with petite mosaic-tile tables. Portholes
for extra light are built into some rooms, while other rooms have exceptional mountain views. The charming bathrooms have tile work that reflects their bird's plumage; some have magnificent little tile tableaus tucked into the soap niche; some bathrooms have separate soaking tubs, and all have Molton Brown toiletries.

Features

Free Wi-Fi and parking, but no on-site restaurant, pool, or fitness center

There's no pool or fitness center at Su Nido Inn, though guests get free passes to Bryant Street Gym, located a few minutes' drive away, and private and group yoga classes are available on request. Rental bikes are available for a fee, too. There's also no on-site restaurant, so guests must dine elsewhere or make use of their in-room kitchenettes, but seasonal fruits are typically available in bowls throughout the property. Concierge services are available, but the front desk closes early in
the evening, so guests arriving late must make a scheduled appointment for
check-in.  Free Wi-Fi runs throughout the inn, and free outdoor parking is provided.
