The three-pearl Best Western Hendersonville Inn is a clean and modern chain hotel in a convenient location off the I-26 freeway, a three-minute drive from the Blue Ridge Mall and 10 minutes from central Hendersonville. The 100 spacious guest rooms are well-maintained, and all come with flat-screen TVs, microwaves, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, and free Wi-Fi. A Mexican restaurant (not owned by the hotel) is on-site, and the hotel also features a free hot breakfast with waffles. There's a seasonal outdoor pool and business center, but unlike other hotels in this pearl category, the hotel doesn't have a laundry room or fitness center. The Mountain Inn & Suites Airport up I-26 is a little cheaper and closer to the airport, but rooms aren’t quite as nice.
Scene
Simple chain hotel with striking lobby, draws mostly leisure travelers
The Best Western has the feel typical of a modern American chain hotel, but the lobby has an attractive, clean-lined contemporary look. The space features high ceilings, big windows to let in natural light, photography on the walls, and furniture in slate blue and pale green. A stairway leads to a mezzanine level. The breakfast room is a little duller in its look, but the independently owned Mexican restaurant features bright yellows and oranges, Mexican-style tile, and wood furniture. In the summer, gather around the seasonal outdoor pool, situated in a nondescript spot overlooking the parking lot. The hotel is mostly a spot for budget-minded leisure travelers to pull off I-26 and rest their heads for the night. Tourists who want to visit the Biltmore Estate and other Asheville attractions can save money, especially during the high season, by staying here rather than nearer Asheville.
Location
Off of I-26, a three-minute drive from Blue Ridge Mall and a 10-minute drive from Hendersonville
The Best Western Hendersonville Inn is off U.S. 64, just east of where it intersects with I-26, in an area with strip malls and fast food restaurants. The Route 1 bus stops right outside the hotel. Blue Ridge Mall is a three-minute drive or five minutes by bus. The Western North Carolina Air Museum and Mountain Farm & Home Museum are both within 10 minutes by car. The center of Hendersonville (a 10-minute drive) features shops, restaurants, bars, and attractions like the Mineral & Lapidary Museum, Hands On! Children's Museum, Henderson County Heritage Museum, and Team ECCO Ocean Center & Aquarium. The Asheville outlet malls and Jump Off Rock scenic overlook, with its panoramic mountain views, are both within 20 minutes by car. The famous Biltmore Estate and 315-foot Chimney Rock granite monolith are both 25-minute drives. The center of Asheville is a little more than 25 minutes by car. Asheville Regional Airport is a little more than a 10-minute drive from the Best Western.
Rooms
Spacious, bright contemporary rooms with microwaves, mini-fridges, and free Wi-Fi
The exteriors of the guest rooms at the Best Western feature white brick, white windows with paned glass, and updated new antique lighting, which gives the rooms a nice look when the sun goes down. Rooms are spacious and have a bright, contemporary look. The color palette in the carpeting, bed throws, and accent walls is various shades of green: mint, pale green, pea green, dark green -- and the rooms also feature wood furniture. Amenities in the 100 rooms are extensive, with 32-inch flat-screen TVs with expanded cable, desks, microwaves, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, and free Wi-Fi all standard. Some rooms have sofas and/or tables with chairs. Bathrooms come with shower/tub combos, hairdryers, and separate vanities with granite countertops. Rooms are all accessed via exterior corridors, with half the rooms facing the street. Rooms are on two floors with no elevator, so guests with mobility issues should request a ground-floor room.
Features
Free hot breakfast buffet, Mexican restaurant, and seasonal outdoor pool
The Best Western has a fairly limited set of property features. The free breakfast buffet earns positive reviews for its ample spread of make-your-own waffles, hot eggs and meat, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, and wide range of cold items. A Mexican restaurant (not owned by the hotel) is located just off the lobby, and serves lunch and dinner. The hotel also offers free coffee and tea all day in the lobby. An outdoor swimming pool is open seasonally, but unlike some other mid-range hotels in the area the hotel has no fitness center. It does offer a 24-hour front desk, business center, and free Wi-Fi throughout the building. Free outdoor parking is available, but the area nearest the lobby can sometimes get crowded with the cars of restaurant patrons. Up to two pets (dogs only, other types of pets accepted at hotel’s discretion), 80 pounds or under per pet, are allowed for a nightly fee.
