Rooms are dated and worn
This budget hotel is an older property, and can at times feel worn. Rooms are fairly large, but are dated and can have minor cleanliness issues; some face the parking lot. The hotel does provide a number of convenient amenities, including a restaurant on-site, free Wi-Fi, free daily parking, a bright indoor pool, and a lobby shop with souvenirs and conveniences. There is a fee for overnight parking, but other inexpensive parking options are nearby, and the property is within walking distance of the Skylon Tower (about 10 minutes) and the Niagara Parkway (about 15 minutes).
Scene
Unmemorable decor; lobby well-connected to other hotel areas
The busy lobby is large and spacious, though the carpet can feel a bit worn and seating is limited. The large front desk is easy to spot, and is right next to the indoor entrance for the IHOP restaurant, open for breakfast and lunch. The entrance to the indoor pool is nearby, as are several elevators and a hallway that leads to the business center and public restrooms. The overall look is nothing special, but the common areas are functional, with busy families and sightseeing tourists bustling about.
Location
Convenient to the area, though a bit unattractive
Built on busy Stanley Avenue in the Fallsview tourist district, this Ramada is tucked between a number of other hotels, as well as restaurants, shops, and activities. While the street isn’t particularly attractive, it’s well-lit and safe for walking. The hotel is about about a 15-minute walk to both the Clifton Hill tourist promenade and the falls themselves, but several popular attractions like the Skylon Tower and the IMAX theater are within easier walking distance. Guests who prefer not to walk can use the convenient WEGO bus system or the hotel’s shuttle to nearby attractions.
Rooms
Simple and dated rooms, some with fireplaces and balconies
Like many other chain hotels, the Ramada Niagara Falls offers a variety of room types and sizes. Standards are fairly spacious, while larger rooms can feature whirlpool tubs, fireplaces, balconies, and separate seating areas. All rooms are decorated in deep reds and light browns, and include coffeemakers, free Wi-Fi, and views of the city or the falls. Guests who prefer a quieter room should ask for accommodations on higher floors and away from the ice machines. While rooms can feel a bit worn or outdated, they are reasonably clean and well-maintained. Some of the bathrooms could use fresh grout, however.
Features
An IHOP and a heated indoor pool
One of the larger area hotels, this property includes a number of convenient features and amenities, including a heated indoor pool in a large, well-lit atrium. In addition, business travelers have access to a business center with two computers, and several meeting spaces. There's a cramped but clean fitness center, a small game room with arcade games, a gift shop, and an on-site IHOP restaurant serving breakfast and lunch. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi in both rooms and public spaces. Parking is free during the day, but guests who wish to park overnight must pay a fee. A microwave for guest use is available in the gift shop, along with snacks and drinks.
