Bottom Line

For travelers who want large rooms in a full-service hotel, this upscale Marriott property with views of the falls is a great choice. A large building, it offers multiple dining options, spa services, valet parking, and a 24-hour fitness center. Various room types are available, including spacious King rooms with river views and whirlpools. The location in the Fallsview District affords many rooms beautiful views of the river and falls, and puts guests within walking distance of most main attractions and activities. This hotel can be bit pricier than some of its nearby competitors, and charges for many amenities including Wi-Fi, parking, and breakfast. It's worth comparing rates with the very comparable Marriott Gateway on the Falls across the street.

Scene

Big and bustling, with a coffee shop and corporate decor

The busy lobby at the Marriott Fallsview is spacious and functional, with multiple seating areas and wide windows to let in plenty of natural light. The decor, including circle-patterned carpeting and a giant chandelier, feel a bit corporate. A large tour desk is closest to the door, and the reception desk is farther back. Welcoming guests (a mix of families, couples, and business travelers) is a Starbucks coffee shop in the center of the lobby, and a small bar with TVs and tables to the side of the reception desk. A large elevator bank is near the door, as well as stairs leading up to the open mezzanine level with the main restaurant, ballrooms, and meeting spaces. Behind the small gift shop, guests can also access the outdoor walkway that connects directly to the Niagara Parkway path.

Location

Close to the falls, and everything else

Located between hotels in the busy Fallsview tourist district, this Marriott is next door to a number of restaurants, bars, shops, and casinos, and across the street from another Marriott property. A small highway separates the hotel from the Niagara Falls Parkway, a long walking path with scenic views of both sets of waterfalls, as well as welcome centers and restaurants. The hotel is a short walk from the Clifton Hill tourist district, giving guests plenty of options for dining and entertainment, including popular attractions like the Niagara Skywheel, Skylon Tower, Niagara Fallsview Casino, and Fallsview Waterpark.

Rooms

Generic rooms, many with amazing views of the falls

A wide variety of rooms are available at this hotel, from more basic options with two queen beds to larger rooms and suites with whirlpool tubs, fireplaces, sitting areas, and multiple bedrooms and levels. Decor is cozy and traditional, with wallpapered bathrooms and warm wood furniture; certain elements, such as the green wall-to-wall carpeting, feel dated. The smaller and less expensive rooms are located on the lower floors, with views of the river, while the larger and more premium rooms are on the higher floors and afford the best views of the falls. All rooms include plush white duvets, coffeemakers, minibars, and in-room safes. There is a daily fee for Wi-Fi use in rooms.

Features

Lots of amenities, including a restaurant, spa, and tour desk

This large resort and spa includes a wide array of helpful and comforting amenities. In addition to the lobby coffee shop, there's a lounge and Terrapin Grille restaurant, which overlooks the falls and serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and room service -- think classic seafood dishes and salads. The lower lobby has a full-service spa, and services including hair styling can be performed in guest rooms, as well. A 24-hour fitness center is available, as well as an indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna, and steam room. A tour desk is located in the main lobby for help with reservations and currency exchange, and a business center and internet kiosks are also available. The only parking option at the hotel is valet, which is an additional daily fee, but there are other less expensive parking options nearby. There is also a charge for Wi-Fi use in guest rooms, but access is free in the lobby and other public areas.
