Scene
Refined Colonial-style building with grand lobby and pool, suitable for all sorts of travelers
This hotel is housed in a white 10-story colonial-style building with flags flying out front among the tall palm trees. The covered entrance is elegant with columns and arched doorways and windows. It all makes a fine-enough first impression, but when it comes to style, this hotel can sometimes be a little underwhelming. Yes, the expansive two-story lobby is grand and has huge windows; there's a sweeping staircase with wrought-iron railings; and rugs lay atop a marble floor. However, the heavy marble work and fabrics only make things look dated. Even so, oversized cushy sofas and chairs provide plenty of places where guests can congregate in the refined space. It remains a well-liked and busy place, and is suitable for all sorts of travelers, including couples, families, groups, businesspeople, and individuals.
Location
Beachfront location close to restaurants, bars, shops, and attractions
This hotel is located on Tran Phu Boulevard across the street from the beach and within walking distance of numerous restaurants, bars, shops, and attractions. Guests can reach the Na Thrang Cathedral in about 15 minutes on foot, and several other major sights are within a 10- or 15-minute drive, including Long Son Pagoda, Po Nagar Cham Towers, Thap Ba Hot Springs Center, and the National Oceanographic Museum of Vietnam. Cam Ranh International Airport is about a 50-minute drive south of the hotel.
Rooms
Spacious rooms and suites with TVs, minibars, and balconies, some with whirlpools and beautiful sea views
The hotel offers spacious rooms and suites, all with wood-laminate floors and mostly neutral color schemes. The look isn't the freshest we've seen, even when it comes to hotels that embrace a classic style. Expect to see lots of empty wall space and a combination of light wood veneer and dark wood accents. Some higher category rooms do have a more high-end finish, with details like handsome hardwood furniture, hardwood floors, and a more elegant overall style. Amenities in all include flat-screen satellite TVs, minibars, free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, safes, and electric kettles. An armchair or loveseat is offered in even the entry-level rooms. Most rooms have balconies, and some have whirlpools on the balcony with exceptional sea views. Spa suites have indoor and outdoor whirlpools as well as a sauna. Bathrooms are tiled and come with above-counter sinks, granite countertops, hairdryers, magnifying mirrors, and upscale toiletries. Robes and slippers are provided, and many rooms have separate showers and tubs.
