A lovely boutique hotel with an Art Deco vibe, the Seton offers chic, if small, rooms in a convenient Midtown location. Scene

This stylish boutique attracts a refined clientele.

With 61 rooms, the Seton is a small boutique property that rarely feels too crowded or loud; even its Midtown location borders the edge of quieter Murray Hill, and feels removed from the hustle and bustle of the heart of the city.Perhaps due to its small size, the Seton has few on-site features; guests will even have to venture outside of the hotel for a snack or meal, and there is no spa or fitness center. However, the hotel does offer free passes to a nearby gym, and the stylish lounge, featuring a flat-screen TV, Art Decor decor, and plush seating, is a nice place to sip on the free coffee and tea that is offered in the visitors center.

Location

On a quiet street in Midtown

Located on 40th Street between Lexington and Third Avenue, the Seton is just blocks from Grand Central, and borders on the edge of Murray Hill, Midtown's quieter, more residential neighbor. The location is convenient for both business and leisure travelers, and it is within walking distance of numerous subway lines as well as sights such as Bryant Park, the Morgan Library, and the Empire State Building.

Rooms

The stylish rooms make this boutique property stand out

Rooms at the Seton may not be particularly large, but they are certainly stylish; they maintain the Art Deco decor that pervades the communal areas, with plush furniture, rich colors, and interesting artwork. All rooms feature flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, iPod docks, and desks; mini-fridges and ironing boards are available upon request, and guests must store valuables in a safe at the front desk. The most affordable rooms share communal bathrooms; Premium and Deluxe Rooms feature en-suite bathrooms, and the Executive Suite has a small sitting area.

Features

The hotel offers few features; the lounge is a highlight.

This small boutique hotel has little in the way of features; there is no spa, restaurant, or fitness center. Guests can ask for free passes to a nearby gym at the front desk, however, and the lobby does have a small business center with printing services, as well as a visitors center stocked with free coffee and tea.The highlight here is the pretty lounge. Painted a warm blue and featuring attractive artwork and plush furniture, the lounge is a comfortable place to relax, read, or watch TV.
