This surprisingly stylish Hilton Garden Inn is located in up-and-coming northern Chelsea, near the Empire State Building and Penn Station. It has all the free extras associated with the Hilton Garden Inn brand - free Wi-Fi, free morning coffee, free afternoon baked goods - plus a good (if pricey) cooked-to-order hot breakfast and a bar area. Scene

A surprisingly stylish mid-level chain with breakfast service and a bar

The Hilton Garden Inn Chelsea makes a stylish first impression; guests are greeted by a rustic wood paneling above the entryway bench and behind the front desk. Guests will also find plenty of goodies here; in the morning, coffee and tea; lemon water throughout the day; baked goods in the afternoon. The cooked-to-order breakfast is a cut above what can be found at most Hilton Garden Inns, and come evening, a small bar area opens up.

Location

In the Flower District of up-and-coming northern Chelsea

The Hilton Garden Inn is in the heart of Chelsea's Flower District - so called for the area's collection of, you guessed it, flower shops and nurseries. There are several other hotels on the street, and a few tourist sights are within walking distance, including the Empire State Building and the Macy's flagship at Herald Square. This area isn't known for its dining or nightlife, though that's starting to change slowly (the nearby Ace Hotel has some hip drinking and dining venues.) The 1 train is less than a block away and can shuttle visitors to other main attractions, such as Times Square.

Rooms

Standard Hilton Garden Inn fare

Rooms are typical for the chain, with generic décor and modern conveniences (flat-screen TVs, microwaves, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers). Some have nice skyline views.

Features

Modern 24-hour business and fitness centers

This Hilton Garden Inn offers 24-hour business and fitness centers with modern equipment. There is also a 24-hour Pavilion Pantry for grab-and-go snacks and drinks. The bar and full-service breakfast restaurant operated by the hotel are nice additions that can't be found at every member of this chain.
