Scene
Mid-range chain hotel with elegant and contemporary interiors
Situated by the Petitcodiac River, the Chateau Moncton is a mid-range property that's part of the Choice hotel brand. It's housed in a large, vaguely chateau-like white five-story building with red trim and peaked red roof that's flanked by the parking lot. Note that the property's interiors have been heavily refurbished since our photo visit. Traditional decor has been updated to a more sleek and contemporary look, bathed in neutral hues and elegant touches like damask wallpaper accents. The lobby has chic soft gray seating and live plants that perk up the gray color scheme. Other common spaces, like the hotel's Galion bar that doubles as the breakfast room, has the same sort of elegant contemporary aesthetic. It's full of natural light thanks to large windows and French doors that open onto a wooden terrace that offers an alfresco dining spot along with views over the Petitcodiac River. Both business travelers and tourists stay here, though those wanting more features might want to look elsewhere, like at the nearby Delta Hotels by Marriott Beausejour.
