Popular with families, this hotel has an arcade room, miniature golf course, two outdoor pools, and several hot tubs. There’s a restaurant on-site with a bar, and the hotel also has its own ski lift. There’s a free shuttle, but it can take over 15 minutes to reach the restaurants and casinos in town. Rooms are spacious and homey; some have stone fireplaces, balconies with mountain views, and kitchens. Guests wanting a more convenient location may want to check out Harveys Lake Tahoe.
Scene
Sprawling mountain resort
The Ridge Tahoe has 11 acres of secluded mountainside land on Heavenly Ski Resort’s Nevada slope (and a ski lift on the property provides ski-in/ski-out access). The restaurant/bar on-site has a lodge-like feel with wooden bear statues and snowshoe decorations. There are plenty of outdoor spaces for families to enjoy the fresh air, including a miniature golf course and a tennis court. The hotel’s surrounding pine trees and gorgeous mountain views make it a popular spot for weddings; sometimes as many as five take place in one weekend.
Location
Near Heavenly Ski Resort on Sierra Nevada Ridge
The Ridge Tahoe is located in a quiet area on the Heavenly Ski Resort’s slope on the Sierra Nevada Ridge. There’s a ski lift providing ski-in/ski-out access. Stateline’s restaurants and casinos can be reached within a 15-minute ride via the free shuttle. Lake Tahoe -- with boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities -- is less than a 30-minute drive from the resort, and Lake Tahoe Airport is also within 30 minutes. Parking at the hotel is free and convenient.
Rooms
Homey rooms with stone fireplaces and mountain-view balconies
Industrial (and sometimes stained) carpeted rooms have varying homey furnishings like fabric couches and ceiling fans. Framed paintings of mountain scenes line the walls, while Pendleton-inspired throw pillows look luxe. Some rooms have stone fireplaces and balconies with gorgeous mountain views. Deluxe rooms include mini-fridges and microwaves, while suites have full kitchens equipped with refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, dishwashers, coffeemakers, and blenders. Bathrooms are basic with shower/tub combos in most. The largest rooms can accommodate up to six guests.
Features
Plenty of indoor and outdoor activities, as well as an on-site store selling groceries
One of the hotel’s two outdoor pools has both an indoor and an outdoor section, and there are several outdoor hot tubs throughout the property with beautiful mountain views. There are an indoor kids' club with crafts and toys and an arcade room with video games, a billiards table, and an air hockey table. The hotel also has a tennis court, racquetball court, and outdoor miniature golf course. A store on-site sells souvenirs and groceries (for stocking the fridge in some of the rooms) and an on-site restaurant includes a full bar and a cute deli. Meeting rooms and outdoor spaces are available for booking events. Paying for Wi-Fi is always a drag, but that's the status quo at this property.
