Comfort Suites Airport

This chain hotel was recently updated in 2012 to reflect a modern, contemporary look. The lobby is quiet and colorful and was recently
updated with rich colors and modern decor. The floor has dark chocolate-brown and white
tiling upon which sit upholstered armchairs and a sectional sofa with
richly colored swirls of crimson, beige, and brown. A round, black-leather sofa
sits adjacent to the living room area complemented by black-and-gold drapes. The same color motif continues directly behind the space in the
breakfast area, where handsome leather-upholstered chairs frame dark-wood
tables. Nearby, a lovely pool area enclosed by a glass atrium is
a warm environment to enjoy down time in any season. This quiet and comfortable
hotel primarily attracts travelers headed to the nearby airport, but its
tasteful look and reasonable rates draws sightseeing families and couples as
well.

The Comfort Suites is approximately about a five- to six-minute drive from Nashville International Airport, and the
hotel offers a free airport shuttle service. Most attractions in downtown
Nashville are approximately 10 to 15 minutes away by car or shuttle, including
Music City Center, Nissan Stadium, and Bridgestone Arena. The hotel offers a
downtown shuttle for a reasonable fee. Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention
Center, Grand Ole Opry, and Opry Mills shopping center are 10 to 12 minutes away
by car, while getting to Vanderbilt University takes 15 to 18 minutes by car. There are several
other hotels in the immediate area surrounding the airport, and a few
restaurants are within a five- to 10-minute walk. Several other restaurants are
a brief drive away, but generally there is not a lot to do in the hotel’s
immediate area.

All suites at this hotel are comfortable and generously sized, though most lack actual
doors separating bedrooms and sitting areas. Larger suites, such as the
Presidential Suite, do have separate rooms as well as additional black-leather sofas and armchairs. Remodeled in late 2012, rooms feature a dark and modern decor
that feels more upscale than those seen in most budget properties. Black
lacquer furniture with deep-red accents is the dominate motif. Grayscale patterned carpets and black and grayish-brown
drapes enhance the ambiance. Most walls are painted off-white, but some are painted a deep red. Suites have ample storage space, with closets, dressers holding 42-inch flat-screen TVs, and consoles with microwaves. Other amenities include mini-fridges, desks with media plugs-ins, office
chairs, coffeemakers, and black upholstered sleeper sofas. Most bathrooms are small and have shower/tub combos and black-granite vanities, though some have two-person whirlpool tubs, glass-enclosed walk-in showers, and double sinks. Most visitors praise the rooms for being quiet and clean, but several past guests have
complained about musty smells. Views are primarily of the hotel grounds and
surrounding buildings. 

As a budget hotel, the Comfort Suites Airport includes various freebies that bump up the hotel's value. The hotel offers free on-site lot parking, and there are park-and-fly
packages available for guests who want to park their cars at the hotel
during trips. The hotel operates a free airport shuttle, as well as a downtown shuttle
for a reasonable roundtrip fee. A free hot breakfast buffet is included in room
rates, and there's an evening manager’s reception (held Monday through Thursday) with free snacks and
beverages, including beer and wine. Free coffee is available throughout the day.
The on-site pantry sells sundries, snacks, beverages, and frozen entrees to
microwave. There is an indoor heated saltwater pool and adjacent area with
tables and lounge chairs that's enclosed by a glass atrium. The small fitness
room has various cardio and weight-training equipment. The business center has
one computer station with a printer, and free Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the
property. Coin-operated laundry facilities are on-site, and valet dry cleaning and
laundry services are available as well.
