Bottom Line

This 102-room two-and-a-half-pearl chain hotel is on the edge of Music Row, a stretch of Nashville packed with music industry offices and recording studios, within walking distance of restaurants, bars, and the popular Gulch area. It's a good choice for budget travelers seeking to immerse themselves in the city's music heritage. Clean and spacious guest rooms come with mini-fridges, 40-inch flat-screen TVs, and microwaves, although they are a bit old-fashioned. The hotel also has an outdoor pool, a small fitness, and a computer station with printer. Room rates include breakfast and parking, and are comparatively low for the location, though nearby Home2 Suites has brighter rooms with kitchens at similar rates.

Scene

A budget chain hotel on legendary Music Row

The BEST WESTERN PLUS Music Row, which draws mainly couples and families, has a contemporary lobby with gleaming granite floors featuring inlaid patterns, pressed tin ceilings, and glittering light fixtures overhead. The modern style isn't consistent though, and the adjacent lounge and breakfast area -- with bulky leather sofas and chairs, a floral-patterned carpet, a wooden coffee table with magazines, and light wood breakfast tables and chairs -- has a more dated style. In fact, the look throughout is a bit of a hodgepodge, as hallways are also bright and modern, like the lobby. The hotel's seasonal outdoor pool and fitness center are simple and spare, but serve their purpose just fine.

Location

On Nashville’s Music Row, within walking distance of bars, restaurants, and music spots

The hotel sits at the end of Music Row, and there's a large number
of record labels and recording studios in the immediate area. It’s an excellent location for tourists seeking to soak up Nashville's music culture, with several trendy restaurants and the popular Gulch area within a ten-minute walk, and downtown
Nashville within a seven-minute drive. The hotel is also within a 10-minute walk of some great live
music venues, such as the Tin Roof and Mercy Lounge. Owen Bradley Park and Tony Rose Park, are within a five-minute walk of the hotel for those needing a dash of greenery. The Grand Ole Opry takes up to 20 minutes to reach by car, while Nashville International Airport is a
15-minute drive from the hotel via I-40 East, depending on traffic.

Rooms

Traditional and spacious, if a bit old-fashioned

Guest rooms here, which include Double Queen Suites and Double King Rooms with seating areas, have a burgundy-and-gold color scheme, with dark swirl-patterned carpets, and heavy dark-wood headboards and furnishings. The rooms are spacious, and
their large windows let in a good amount of light to brighten the dark decor. A guitar motif on bolster
cushions nods to the area's musical heritage, though the satin bedspreads verge on tacky. All rooms are air-conditioned, and include mini-fridges, mounted 40-inch flat screen TVs, microwaves, free Wi-Fi, irons and ironing
boards, safes, coffeemakers, and clock radios. Bathrooms are small and basic with plain white decor, but they have granite vanities with large mirrors, and shower/tub combos. Toiletries are also provided. In some rooms, safes are on the floors in an open closest, which isn't the most convenient place for them.

Features

Outdoor pool, fitness center, business center, and free Wi-Fi, breakfast, and parking

By budget standards, this hotel offers several satisfying features, though don't expect top-of-the-line quality. The hotel has a small rectangular outdoor outdoor pool, which is open during
the summer, though there is no seating and the space is walled in. There’s also a small fitness center with a treadmill, elliptical
machine, free weights, and exercise bike, as well as a computer station with a printer and a meeting room. Breakfast, which includes a mix of hot and cold items, is included in the room rate, as is parking. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property.
