Vino Bello Resort

The Vino Bello Resort, just north of Napa's Grape Crusher statute, sits in front of vineyards that are accessible from the back of the hotel by dirt trails. The cream-colored, three-story resort takes its inspiration from Napa's vineyards. The lobby looks like a winery, with wood beams lining the ceiling, a large fireplace, velvet furniture in cream and burgundy, and a front desk made of exposed stone and topped with an oversized wine bottle. The hallways leading to the rooms have grape leaf pattern carpets and ironwork wall art. The grounds of the hotel are spacious and elegant, with comfy and stylish earth-toned outdoor furniture, fire pits, and fireplaces, as well as lovely fountains and a platform for wedding ceremonies that looks out over the vineyards. The atmosphere and amenities primarily attract couples and families.

Vino Bello Resort is on a small street off of Napa Valley Corporate Drive, a 12-minute drive to downtown Napa, the Wine Train, Oxbow Marketplace, and the airport. The area is dominated by corporate parks and not suitable for public transportation or walking far distances. The front of the property faces a dirt lot, but behind the resort are vineyards and the Meritage Resort and Spa, where guests have access to a spa, a tasting room, and a cafe, bar, and restaurant. Sonoma is 22 minutes by car and the Napa Golf Course is a five-minute drive away.

Rooms are separate condominiums decorated in a classic Tuscan style with comfy furniture in neutral and burgundy colors, wood accents, flat-screen TVs with DVD players, and modern bathrooms with bathrobes. Rooms range from studios to two-bedroom condos that include free bottled water, kitchens or kitchenettes with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops, balconies or patios, and dining areas. Some rooms have whirlpool tubs as well as washers and dryers. Guests recommend rooms on the upper floors, which are reportedly quieter and offer vineyard views. Daily housekeeping is available for an additional fee.

The Vino Bello Resort has two modern, bright gyms and two clean pools with stylish orange- and rust-colored cabanas, as well as two hot tubs. There's a charming water fountain with koi fish painted on the bottom near the smaller pool. Yoga classes are occasionally held on the lawn in front of the gym and bicycle rentals are available right outside the hotel. The resort has a partnership with the Meritage Resort and Spa, a five-minute walk away, which features on-site drinking and dining options, including a tasting room, a wine bar, a lounge bar, a cafe, and a restaurant. The Spa Terra at the Meritage is located underground and has curved ceilings and exposed brick and wood accents. There is also a happy hour on Friday evenings in the Meritage lobby, which is open to Vino Bello guests.
