The luxury Carneros Resort and Spa is geared toward high-budget travelers -- it's pricey -- but guests who can afford it will find a sort of homey elegance here. Hillside Adirondack chairs overlook the vineyard. Crackling fireplaces warm every room. Private gardens and tree-lined infinity pools invite guests to relax. The entire resort feels like it's set on a farm, with cottages strewn about that house some of the guest rooms. The rooms are very comfy, with private decks and stone patios surrounded by overgrown greens and a fire pit. They also have outdoor tubs and showers, which is a cool feature. The open bathrooms inside are huge, with walk-in showers and a soaking tub. The property has three restaurants, one of which overlooks the vineyard, a bright and airy yoga studio, a fitness center, a hair salon, and a grocery store called The Market at Town Square.
Location
About 10 minutes from the nearest airport, and only a few minutes' drive to dozens of wineries. A car is a must for getting around.
The Carneros Resort and Spa resides in sleepy Napa Valley -- California's wine country -- about an hour north of both San Francisco and Oakland. It's a short drive from Napa County Airport, and just several minutes from dozens of local vineyards and wineries. It's a beautiful, safe area surrounded by green hills and grape vines; a different form of fun in sunny California. The resort itself is set in a farm-like scene, with rolling hills and a farmer's market on-site.Located in Northern California north of the San Francisco Bay area, Napa Valley has one of the United States' most prominent and lucrative wine industries. With rolling hills and vineyards at virtually every turn, this upscale tourist town retains a quaint and rustic quality, thanks in part to its amazing natural landscape. Although Napa doesn't have nightlife in the traditional sense, it is home to an Opera House and the Uptown Theater, as well as dozens of wineries.- 11-minute drive from Napa County Airport
