Scene
Gorgeous, relaxed resort with thermal geysers on-site
Guests will immediately be taken by the property’s gorgeous
palm tree-lined drive. The historic, family-owned resort and spa is spread over 16 wine country acres with gardens, hills, and ponds. There are
four thermal geysers which provide mineral water for two swimming pools and
the spa’s mud baths. Olive and palm trees along with rosebushes and lavender plants are spread throughout the property. The lobby is in a bright white cottage that has a California ambiance, decorated in classic white and orange. The property has a relaxed vibe, enhanced by the peaceful scenery.
Location
Located at the northern part of the Napa Valley in a desert-like oasis
The hotel is located on 16 acres on the outskirts of
downtown Calistoga at the northern end of the Napa Valley. It’s right around
the corner from the Silverado Trail. Indian Springs has a desert oasis-like
feeling, making it a quiet and luxurious retreat. Most attractions, including
wineries, are within driving distance. A
quaint corner market and artisanal tasting room are both around the corner. Though kids are welcome here, most of the guests are couples on a romantic vacation.
Rooms
A variety of rooms -- cottages, lodges, bungalows -- offer private retreats
More than 100 rooms are spaced out throughout the property
providing guests with comfortable accommodations. Charming cottages are available in studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units with kitchenettes and porches (these are
the original rooms at Indian Springs, built in the 1940s). The Lodge is a
restored 1930s building with a nod to California’s Spanish roots. There are
24 rooms with modern amenities like a flat-screen TV and
a mini-fridge. Bungalows offer both indoor and outdoor spaces. There are also
private houses that offer optimal privacy and space. Some rooms have beautiful views
of the geyser. Expect to pay for Wi-Fi.
Features
Amenities include a luxurious spa, two pools, and a farm-to-table restaurant
The hotel’s spa offers restorative treatments, many using
pure volcanic ash in mud baths and mineral water. Private massage rooms are
spread along a wooden walkway leading to a Buddha Pond. There's a shaded
outdoor veranda with a covered lounge and fireplace and two pools on-site: the main pool is a gorgeous Olympic-size mineral pool (one of the
largest in California) using highly mineralized water from the location’s own
geysers. There are plenty of lounge chairs, many under a covering. The adult pool is a more intimate retreat with lounge chairs, hammocks, and picnic
tables spread throughout the property along small ponds. Games like bocce ball
are also set up. Sam’s Social Club is a full-service restaurant serving rustic
American cuisine with a Mediterranean influence. Artisan cocktails, local wines, and craft beers are served along a seasonal menu using ingredients from the
region. A large outdoor dining area has fire pits. Though parking is free, there's an extra charge for Wi-Fi.
