Prince Resort

This mid-range resort occupies two candy-colored cartoon-like high-rises, the eye-catching facades of which are mirrored in their vibrantly-colored interiors. Common spaces are bright with vivid hues and patterns, though the style teeters on the edge of retro and dated, with the latter often dominating. Rust-colored carpeting seen throughout many of the public spaces could use an update, as could some of the furnishings. Guests here are a mix of couples and families with kids.

The hotel is situated on the beach in the quiet and largely residential North Myrtle Beach. Cherry Grove Fishing Pier, popular with fishermen and tourists alike, is a four-minute walk from the property. There's not much in terms of dining or attractions in the immediate area, so a car is advised to get around. Central Myrtle Beach and all of its family-friendly attractions, like the boardwalk, SkyWheel, Broadway at the Beach, and Family Kingdom Amusement Park, is about a 35-minute drive away. The area is known for its abundance of golf courses, and there are several nearby, including the Surf Golf & Beach Club (four-minute drive), the Beachwood Golf Club (10-minute drive), Azalea Sands Golf Club (11-minute drive), and the Barefoot Resort & Golf (20-minute drive). The Myrtle Beach International Airport is about a 40-minute drive from the resort. Myrtle Beach State Park is a 50-minute drive from the resort. 

The hotel offers one-, two-, and three-bedroom condos, all with full kitchens and furnished balconies. The units are spread across two buildings, the main difference between them being better views and proximity to the beach in Tower One rooms. Decor here is lackluster and dated, the spaces clad in multi-hued color schemes peppered with salmon and orange tones. Living rooms have sleeper sofas and dining areas, while kitchens are equipped with full fridges, dishwashers, stoves/ovens, microwaves, coffeemakers, toasters, blenders, and dish- and cooking-ware. All units also have washers and dryers, as well as flat-screen TVs, safes, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms vary, and though most are spacious, some are small and have limited space. They're equipped with shower/tub combos, wall-mounted hairdryers, and toiletries. Larger condos have more than one bathroom.

The resort offers a solid set of features aimed at leisure travelers, the highlight being the outdoor pools, which include a lazy river, a kids' pool, and a rooftop pool with lovely ocean views. There are also several hot tubs. Guests also have direct access to the beach, plus there's a long pier out on to the water with an observation deck, fishing riggings, and several cleaning stations. An on-site bait and tackle shop is located at the end of the Pier, where travelers can rent fishing equipment, pick up touristy items and toiletries, or purchase bait. There is a small fee for walking out on the Pier. 

Dining options include two restaurants: the casual Boardwalk Beach Cafe that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the seasonal 3500 Ocean Grill, which is open for breakfast and dinner. The hotel also has a fitness center, that though a bit small, offers a good variety of equipment and lovely views over the water. Other features include three meeting rooms, free DVD rentals, and free or discounted tickets to some area attractions. There is plenty of free on-site parking, both covered and uncovered options. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel.
