  • Complaints about cleanliness issues in individually-owned condos

Bottom Line

The three-pearl Oceans One Resort has more of a condo community atmosphere than that of a resort, as its lobby is located across the street and there are no dining options on-site. Five fun water features are about the only amenities that resemble that of other Myrtle Beach beachfront properties. What stands out most are the contemporary and stylish design of the 130 condos which are outfitted with balconies and kitchens.  If you can look past the limited housekeeping, small gym, and book a room from the hotel's room inventory and not from individual owners (these condos vary in terms of cleanliness), it could make for a good stay. A daily resort fee takes care of parking and Wi-Fi. As an alternative, Compass Cove Oceanfront Resort has two slides, a few restaurants, and a kids' club, often at a lower price.

Scene

Beachfront property with a residential-like atmosphere and a clientele of families and couples

Oceans One Resort has a different structure from most hotels in Myrtle Beach. Both the parking lot and the lobby are located across the street from where the condos are located, which can be a bit cumbersome for some travelers. However, the separate buildings are meant to create a more residential and laid-back vibe. As far as the lobby goes, it has a contemporary design with a soft blue and gray color scheme kept bright by floor-to-ceiling windows. With no seating in the lobby, it feels more like a residential leasing office than a cozy hotel lobby. Entrance to the condo building is secure via keycard-only access 24 hours a day. Couples and families are the main clientele, but with no restaurant and limited amenities beyond five water features, the environment is incredibly quiet compared to other Myrtle Beach beachfront properties.

Location

On the beach, just a 13-minute walk to the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade

At a 13-minute walk from the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade, Oceans One Resort has a pretty good beachfront location. There’s plenty of dining options in beach-theme restaurants on surrounding streets. The CVS and Dollar General are a 12-minute walk away. As for attractions, Family Kingdom Amusement Park is a four-minute walk away, while mini-golf takes five minutes to reach on foot. Both Coastal Grand Mall and Broadway at the Beach offer shopping and entertainment at an eight-minute drive away. It’s a 10-minute drive to Myrtle Beach International Airport. The popular Tanger Outlet has two locations: the Highway 501 location is a 15-minute drive and the Highway 17 location is a 25-minute drive away.

Rooms

Attractive condos with kitchens, washers and dryers, and balconies

The condos at Oceans One Resort range in size from one- to three-bedroom units. All are well-equipped with balconies, washers and dryers, and kitchens with microwaves, refrigerators, coffeemakers, sinks, stoves, and ovens. The units feature a contemporary design filled with dark carpet and furniture that contrasts well with the mint green accents and statement walls. The living areas are outfitted with white couches and chairs, while modern artwork or mirrors on the walls add a nice stylish flair. Flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi are provided in all rooms. The white bathrooms are fairly plain and outfitted with shower/tub combos, Eden toiletries, and hairdryers.Guests should note that full housekeeping services are not available daily, though the trash is emptied and towels are replaced. Linen changes are available on the fourth day of stay. Also, some rooms are individually-owned and may have cleanliness and maintenance issues not found among all rooms here. It’s best to book with Oceans One Resort directly.

Features

Lacks a restaurant, but offers indoor and outdoor pools and a small gym

Oceans One Resort doesn’t provide a lot of features, but they do excel in water activities. There's an indoor pool and hot tub, outdoor pool and kids’ pool, and a lazy river that’s partially indoors. The resort is beachfront to several miles of bustling white sands in Central Myrtle Beach. Like all hotels in Myrtle Beach, beach umbrellas and chairs are only rented through the city via the lifeguards. There’s no restaurant, breakfast, or bar on-site. The hotel does provide a small fitness center with three cardio machines and one weight machine in a sunny room. There’s a spacious lounge for guests to gather that has a flat-screen TV and balcony. Wi-Fi, concierge services, and parking are covered in the resort fee.
