This North Myrtle Beach resort is a perfect place for those looking for a quiet beach vacation. Guests need a car to get to most of the main Myrtle Beach attractions, but access to the beach is made easy by a tram the resort provides. Located behind a 24-hour security gate, the resort attracts a mix of families and snowbirds looking to escape the colder weather up north. Units are clean and tidy, and decor has been updated throughout most of the property. Amenities, such as a tennis facility and a grill area with live entertainment, provide on-site action.
Scene
This is not the place for travelers looking for a Myrtle Beach party.
Located behind a security gate and set on 57 acres, Ocean Creek Resort is one of Myrtle Beach's best offerings when it comes to privacy and seclusion. The sheer size of the place lends itself to a more spread-out feeling than do other resorts. Despite the sprawl, it's still easy to take advantage of the sand and surf with the free tram to the beach. There is also an oceanfront pool and many units have ocean views.
Location
Across the road from Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach, Ocean Creek Resort still manages to feel secluded.
Travelers who tend to choose North Myrtle Beach for a quieter vacation than they'd likely find in other parts of town might appreciate Ocean Creek Resort's extra sense of privacy. Set far back from the road behind a security gate, the only noises heard at this 57-acre resort are ocean breezes. It's a property well-suited to biking and walking, but it's not the place to stay for those who want to be right in the thick of things, as a car is needed to get to many of Myrtle Beach's main attractions. It is, however, directly across the road from the shops and dining of Barefoot Landing.
Rooms
Well-maintained and adaptable to groups of various sizes
There are five different accommodation types at Ocean Creek Resort: Towers, Greens Villas, Tennis Villas, Garden Homes, and Lodge Villas, with sizes ranging from studios to three-bedroom units. The price is for the most part dictated by the unit's proximity to the beach and other on-site attractions. All except the Lodge Villas include full kitchens, and many include washers and dryers. The Towers and Greens Villas include free Wi-Fi, and have either a private balcony or patio. The Tennis Villas include screened-in porches. Most units are tastefully decorated, but styles range widely, as the resort is a mixture of privately owned units and rented units. Views of the ocean from the North and South Towers are spectacular.
Features
Ocean Creek's got all the amenities expected of a Myrtle Beach resort, but not all are accessible to every guest.
Ocean Creek Resort offers several pools, a beach club, tennis, golf, biking, and more. But visitors should be aware that the oceanfront South Tower Outdoor Pool can be used only by guests in the South Tower. The Beach Club, however, does have another oceanfront pool open to all guests. Ocean Creek also offers a tennis facility, an in-season kids' club, and an on-site restaurant, as well as a couple of options for indoor swimming when the weather is bad. Ocean Creek's real standout feature, though, is the land it's on -- 57 acres in all, perfect for walking, biking, and exploring.
