The hotel has a standard lobby with tile floors and seating areas made up of patterned chairs and teal couches. Tropical ceiling fans and coral-inspired lamps add a beachy vibe. A wooden walkway brings guests to the sandy beach area, and a curved wooden bench and a row of lounge chairs in a grassy lawn offer spots for guests to relax and take in the ocean views. The fitness center has carpeted floors and floor-length curtains and resembles a banquet room, but there is a variety of equipment and a wall-mounted TV. The game room is a bit cramped and doesn’t have a large variety of games, but there is a pinball machine and race car video games. Families are the usual guests, though couples visit too. 

The hotel is located on a flat, sandy beach surrounded by other hotels in south Myrtle Beach. There are several restaurants in the area, including a Dairy Queen, within walking distance. The boardwalk is less than a 10-minute drive, and Myrtle Beach State Park takes just over 10 minutes to reach by car. Both the airport and Whispering Pines Golf Course are around a five-minute drive away.

Grand Atlantic Ocean Resort offers condos with one to four bedrooms. Some of the rooms are privately owned, meaning decor can vary, but many have pale walls, floral bedding, and beds with wooden headboards that resemble plantation shutters. Flooring and living room furnishings vary, but all rooms are homey and have a lot of amenities, including washers and dryers. Each bedroom has a TV with a DVD player. Kitchens are furnished with stoves and refrigerators, and appliances include toasters, blenders, and coffeemakers. Two-bedroom rooms have two bathrooms, while three- and four-bedroom rooms have three bathrooms. All rooms have free Wi-Fi and convenient power outlets. DVDs can be borrowed from the front desk free of charge. 

The hotel has a heated indoor pool, a small lazy river, and a children’s pool with a fountain. Outside is another pool right by the beach and a children’s pool with umbrella falls. The restaurant and ice cream shop is open in the summer, and there's a seasonal convenience store. The hotel has a fitness center with a variety of modern equipment including three treadmills, elliptical machines, and free weights. There's a small game room and an Internet corner with one computer and a printer, Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel. A sunbathing lawn with lounge chairs faces the ocean, and the hotel has free parking, although space can be limited in the high season.
