The 156-room Myconian K Hotel complex is made up of four family-owned luxury hotels: Kohili, Korali, Kyma and Kalypso, all part of one upscale facility by the beach. Although they're not new properties, the hotels feel modern and super-Greek, blending into Mykonos' natural landscape with staggeringly gorgeous views of the Aegean Sea and two gigantic pools surrounded by stone terraces and sun-beds. Rooms are modern but not cutting-edge, and have little balconies overlooking the pool and sea. The setting practically begs guests to relax and look glamourous. Travelers seeking a more low-key vibe could try the nearby Adonis Hotel.
Scene
Glamorous, destination spa-resort feeling without the hefty price tag
The Myconian K Hotels are surrounded by landscaped cactus gardens, rough-hewn stone walkways and patios, and hidden terraces with hanging basket chairs for catching rays. The complex feels like a luxe destination spa-resort: two, vast outdoor pools are ringed with stone decks and seating areas, plus the chic Ambrosia poolside restaurant-bar with wooden slab tables and wicker chairs that tempt guests to stay all day. Inside and out, whitewash is the predominant look. The lobby is white and spacious, with white sofas and cool accessories, like pony skin-covered stools, plus endless views. Guests convene at the bright white, modern Lobby Bar and Delos restaurant, which feels like an exotic cave with low ceilings and an amazing stone floor -- plus views. Visitors range from traveling friends to casual couples, but the overall atmosphere is decidedly glam.
Location
On the edge of Mykonos town, near the beautiful beach
The Myconian K Hotels are located on the edge of historic and culturally vibrant Mykonos, about a 10-minute walk from the town center, and just far enough away to escape the crowds. Guests can enjoy the famed Myconian nightlife if they choose, but the hotel complex is a quiet oasis, near the beautiful island beaches, which are accessible by daily ferry. The island bus stops at the end of the hotel driveway for access to town, and there are free bike rentals on-site -- plus free parking. The airport and ferry are each a 10-15 minute drive away, and the hotel provides free transfers.
Rooms
Greek-chic rooms, some with private outdoor whirlpools
Rooms at the Myconian K Hotels have private balconies with spectacular views of either the Aegean Sea or the pool, and some decks have private outdoor whirlpools. Rooms are whitewashed and effortlessly chic, with striking blue doorways, artful photographs on the walls, seashell ornaments, and occasional pops of turquoise in the linens or other accents. Some rooms have more funky, fun designs, like a headboard made from a cage containing whitewashed rocks. Bathrooms, and especially the showers, are small, but done in pretty Mediterranean blue tile. Rooms come with satellite TVs with movie channels, mini-fridges, safes, and modern sound systems.
Features
Gigantic pool, fitness center with sea views, Thalassotherapy spa
The Myconian K Hotels are arranged around a spectacular pool area, with two pools, a bar and snack bar, and plenty of sun-beds and shade. The fitness center is bright and sunny, and guests can work out while enjoying the great views. The Ambrosia restaurant faces the pool -- with indoor and outdoor seating -- and offers an la carte menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a Mediterranean focus. Guests receive a free 50-minute thalassotherapy treatment per day at the spa, which has a natural aesthetic -- seashells, tented ceilings, egg-shaped chairs, and plenty of spots for relaxing after a massage, facial, or beauty treatment. On Platis Gialos beach, guests can water ski and jet ski, scuba, banana boat, wake board, and more.
