Harmony Boutique Hotel

The two-story hotel is bathed in white with blue accents on balconies and doors -- it's the picture that many visitors have in mind when they think of Mykonos. Cacti and other plants grow in large pots and planters on the side of the building. Inside, the lobby is fresh and bright, with a soothing white color scheme with aqua and tan accents. Cushioned seating areas provide places for guests to hang out in groups, while driftwood and other nautical accents create an appropriately seaside vibe. It's a cozy, inviting hotel, especially suitable for couples and groups of friends, as there are romantic (or convivial) spots all around for guests to linger and enjoy the spectacular harbor views. Keep in mind that walkways to many guest rooms are exterior stone steps, which could create a problem for mobility-challenged guests. 

This hotel is centrally located on the main road connecting Mykonos town and the new harbor. It's a five-minute walk to town and is close to restaurants, bars, clubs, and shops, as well as a bus station and the post office. During the high season, the road can get quite busy -- in fact the whole town can be downright packed. There are plenty of art galleries in town, and the charming Matoyianni Street, lined with boutiques and shops, takes about seven minutes to reach on foot. Kalafatis Beach is a 20-minute drive from the hotel. The ferry port is five minutes away by car or taxi, making it convenient to travel to other islands. The Mykonos Airport is about a 10-minute drive from the hotel. 

Simple rooms feature white walls and draperies, off-white tile floors, blonde wood furnishings, gray and tan bed coverings, and artwork depicting Greek architecture and design. Don't expect high style, though, as rooms are as straightforward as it comes. Some could use better lighting, though jute lamps and contemporary mod-style chairs in some rooms do provide a little bit of visual oomph. The stand-out feature of rooms are the charming terraces with modern seating -- they're a lovely place to start the day with tea or coffee, and some have stunning sea views. All rooms include electric kettles, CD players, air-conditioning, 20-inch satellite TVs, safes, minibars, and free Wi-Fi. Blue-and-white bathrooms have a homey look and include shower/tub combos, hairdryers, makeup mirrors, and premium toiletries. Superior rooms add jetted tubs in bathrooms.

Amvrosia Restaurant next to the pool is open for lunch and dinner. It's a relaxed, casual space that is bright and fresh with a cool blue and white color scheme. An American breakfast buffet is served indoors each morning, but there is a fee. Many fruits and vegetables served in the restaurant are grown at the hotel owner's farm. The small outdoor pool looks out to the sea and town, and the pool bar helps keep things lively. A variety of cushioned lounge chairs are provided for relaxing poolside on the small deck. Additional seating is available under a roof for those who prefer to avoid the sun. The setting is hip, and the views are incredible, especially at sunset. The fitness center offers cardio and weight-training equipment as well as free weights and yoga mats. The mini-spa has massage treatment rooms and a sauna, and the hotel can help book any excursions or tours around the island. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel and parking is also free.
