The 80-room Marc Muenchen is a modern and monochromatic upscale hotel with neon lighting designs, a central Munich location, and competitively priced rooms. This sleek hotel also offers 24-hour front desk service, on-site paid parking, free Wi-Fi, and a sophisticated boardroom with audiovisual equipment. Scene
Modern hotel with minimalist design and fun colorful lighting
The exterior of Marc Muenchen -- with five floors -- is sleek and monochromatic. The entrance is welcoming, with green planters flanking the electronic glass doors. The lobby’s interior design scheme is modern and minimalist. Architectural firms Hamm Design and Haushofer & Gnadke designed the hotel. Contemporary green paisley sofas face large windows that look out on the street and a flat-screen TV is mounted above a gas fireplace.A long desk serves both as the reception area and the lobby bar, which offers six bar stools. The breakfast room features a large, clean buffet and modern furniture. Tall windows, however, face the uncovered parking lot. Hallways are standard, with patterned carpeting and red doors. Intricate iron railings and black marble floors in the stairwell are stylish. Neon recessed lighting in the modern elevators is an additional fun touch.
Location
Prime location in the center of Munich
The hotel’s close proximity to the Munchen Hauptbahnhof station, a main subway line, makes the location appealing to tourists, who want to explore the sites, as well as business travelers. The airport is 27 minutes by car or 52 minutes by public transportation. The site of Oktoberfest is an 18-minute walk. It’s a 10-minute subway ride to the Bavarian royal palace. The hotel is also in walking distance to theaters, restaurants, cultural sites, and museums. The Deutsches Museum Verkehrszentrum is 18 minutes on foot; the Jewish Museum of Munich is a 17-minute walk; and Münchner Feuerwehrmuseum is 15 minutes away. The town square, Karlsplatz, is an eight-minute walk.
Rooms
Monochromatic rooms feature modern furnishings, flat-screen TVs, and fun lighting designs
Modern monochromatic furnishings -- plus pops of red, dark wood furniture, and recessed colorful lighting -- fill all rooms. Wood floors, minibars, digital safes, flat-screen TVs, and Marc Muenchen fragrance bottles are additional features. Some rooms have rainfall showerheads. Windows offer uninspiring views of the courtyard, street, or parking lot. Bathrooms are modern, with sleek Dornbracht fixtures and an all-in-one shower gel (no shampoo or conditioner). Room service is not available and kettles can be requested.
