Scene
Luxury Marrakech hotel features sprawling grounds and beautiful interiors
Le Meridien N’Fis is a sprawling 13-acre
Marrakech property with lovely Andalusian gardens and lawns. The romantic
atmosphere is geared toward couples, but the facilities also appeal to families
or travelers who are part the Starwood Preferred Guest program and thus receive additional perks.Walking paths wind
through gardens with fountains, palms, and flower arbors. A vegetable
garden produces food used by the kitchen and in cooking lessons. An opulent entryway leads to the colorfully patterned,
kaleidoscopic front door of the hotel. Sleek furniture, Moorish tiles, and an
ornate black domed skylight can be found in the lobby along with a grand piano. Guests are welcomed with mint
tea. While the overall effect of the N’Fis is a refreshing mix of contemporary
and traditional design, some fixtures are in need of repair.
Location
On the outskirts of the Medina, near several sights
The N’Fis is in the
heart of L'Hivernage, a residential area, with taxis, horse-drawn carriages,
and double-decker buses right outside the hotel. It’s a short drive northeast to
the Medina of Marrakech, a historical landmark that’s part of UNESCO’s World
Heritage list. Other readily accessible cultural attractions include Jemaa al
Fna square, the Menara Gardens, and the Museum de Marrakech -- along with the
breathtaking architectural splendors of the Medersa Ben Youseef. Royal Golf of
Marrakech is a 14-minute drive east while the nearby Camel Trekking Morocco
Desert Tours offers camel rides to visitors. And it’s less than a 10-minute drive
southwest to Marrakech Menara Airport.
