Bottom Line

The Four Seasons Marrakech is a sprawling
141-room luxury resort with two pools, a modern spa, and quick taxi access to the
Medina and Souks. The hotel features chic, contemporary style and a neutral color
palette, although this may disappoint those craving the rich colors and
textures associated with the Red City. The hotel's low-key vibe is attractive
to travelers, families, and brand loyalists who crave the pampered, secluded compound-like
atmosphere that's still within reach (it not walking distance) of the city's attractions.

Scene

A serene and luxurious walled-compound style resort with extensive grounds and a variety of amenities that cater equally to families and couples

Luxurious and low-key, the Four Season's Marrakech skirts the traditional style of richly colored and patterned furnishings found in Marrakech and instead mixes subtle nuances of the city's history with a sophisticated, contemporary design that is consistent with the hotel brand. The overall look, created by Hill Glazier Architects, mimics a Moorish palace surrounded by pavilions. Stretches of reflecting pools, lush gardens with palm and olive trees, and two swimming pools are neatly arranged throughout the 40-acre property with guest rooms accessed via arcades, courtyards, and stairways intended to evoke the design of a traditional riad. The hotel attracts a variety of travelers and they all can find their place at the resort; there is a pool strictly dedicated for adults who seek quiet and another for more active families with children. Specific programs and centers are dedicated to keeping kids and young adults busy while parents and couples find time to relax in myriad adult spaces, including a spa.

Location

In a secluded area that's undergoing resort development, a short drive to the Medina

Set on 41 acres of private compound-like property, the
resort is located in a secluded area with ongoing resort development. It is across
the street from the Menara Gardens and a quick ride to the Medina and Souks. There's not much within walking distance, though, so this location isn't ideal for those who were hoping to be immersed in the city's culture. It's well-suited for those who prefer a more traditional resort experience away from the crowds of the Medina. - 10-minute walk to the Menara Gardens

  • Eight-minute drive to El Badi Palace
  • Nine-minute drive to Medina
  • 10-minute drive to the Marrakech Menara Airport
  • 10-minute drive to Magorelle Garden
  • 16-minute drive to the Royal Golf Club
  • 45-minute drive to Ourika Valley
  • 3-hour drive to Agadir
  • 4-hour drive to the Saharan Desert

Rooms

Luxurious guest rooms and suites with contemporary Moroccan style, private terraces, and views of the Atlas Mountains

The Four Seasons Marrakech offers 141
rooms (including 27 suites) all with private terraces set within low-rise
buildings surrounded by olive and palm trees. There are four categories of guest rooms.
The largest (538 square feet) Pavilion rooms are located on the lower floors
with some offering direct access to the pool, but they lack natural light.
Other guest room categories offer views of the resort or full or partial views
of the Atlas Mountains and the Menara Gardens. Suites range in size from
602-square-foot one-bedroom units to a palatial four-bedroom villa with a private
walled terrace with pool and whirlpool. The rooms are finished in contemporary
style with serene color palettes brightened by punches of bright orange fabric,
bold artwork, and handcrafted Moroccan woodwork and Zelige tiling. Luxury
accouterments such as twice-daily housekeeping, thick terry robes, and the
latest technology are standard. Bathrooms are finished with marble, deep
soaking tubs, separate glass-walled showers, and plenty of thick towels and a
selection of Damana bath products.
