Courtyard Montreal Downtown

The Courtyard exudes class and comfort from the moment guests enter its contemporary, airy lobby that’s highlighted by an imposing, modern chandelier with illuminated rectangles hanging from the second floor. Tan marble floors and dark-wood paneling line the walls and frame three front desks. Clusters of comfortable upholstered chairs and couches with throw pillows frame glass tables and patterned rugs of brown and soft orange highlights. Other seating areas for quiet conversations are tucked away in the large lobby, including a secluded area around a gas fireplace. Bar stools line a long white table with laptop plug-ins, and computer stations with printers are nearby. Dark wood tables and walls and circular booths highlight a tastefully decorated restaurant. A small rectangular bar is tucked into the corner. On the top floor, meeting rooms have great views and ample natural light. The rooftop fitness and pool area gives another spot to take in great downtown views. Unsurprisingly, the property gets its fair share of business travelers, although couples are also drawn to its location and amenities.

The Courtyard is centrally located in the downtown business district, surrounded by high-rise office buildings on a busy street. It's a seven-minute walk to the convention center and Place d’armes subway station and about an 11-minute walk to the Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal. The heart of Old Montreal is about a 15-minute walk away, with its restaurants, shops, and 18th century buildings. The airport is 12 miles away, approximately 22 minutes by car or taxi and 30 minutes by public transportation.

Continuing the hotel's modern, businesslike look, guest rooms are dominated by dark brown and tan decor in the furniture, patterned carpet, drapes, and accent walls. Dark-wood headboards are framed by lighter brown tile on accent walls behind the bed. Families praise the availability of Double Queen Rooms that can accommodate four. Those spacious rooms have a large desk with work space that can double in size thanks to a rolling second table tucked underneath. They're paired with ergonomic desk chairs. King Rooms offer additional space with a full couch and coffee table. All rooms offer mini-fridges, one-cup coffeemakers, flat-screen TVs, free water and Wi-Fi, electronic safes, and speakerphones with voice mail. Tan-tiled, modern bathrooms are spacious and well lit with glass-walled showers, magnifying mirrors, and Paul Mitchell toiletries. 

This 11-story Courtyard has a small, lap-style indoor pool on the top floor adjacent to a spacious fitness center that has great views of the city and a wide choice of top-of-the-line cardio and weight machines. A whirlpool and sauna are also located on the top floor, as well as an outdoor terrace. There are meeting spaces for up to 275 people in four rooms, and computer stations, printer, fax, and copy services are available. Free Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the hotel. The Le Darlington restaurant serves an a la carte breakfast that is not included in the room rate and a full, continental-style menu for lunch and dinner, along with an on-the-go choice of sandwiches, pastries, fruit, yogurt and drinks. A small bar abuts the restaurant, and room service is available in evening hours. A small market is also on-site selling drinks and snacks. Parking is available on-site, as is a coin-operated laundry. Valet dry cleaning and newspapers in the lobby are available, as are concierge services.
