Hotel Pacific

Hotel Pacific is a quaint boutique hotel featuring a mixture of contemporary design paired with classic chic interiors. The lobby features high wooden ceilings with sky-light, rustic tiled floors, a humble wooden reception desk, and a mix of modern and antique-like furniture. A gas fireplace is the centerpiece of a cozy lounge area with comfortable sofas, potted plants, and Spanish-inspired decor. The central courtyard is a lovely space to relax and unwind, with a few scattered seating areas with surrounding plants and a central water feature that combine for a tranquil atmosphere. Guests have complained of the breakfast area getting overcrowded, with not quite enough space when the hotel is at full capacity. The hotel is mostly frequented by leisure travelers, particularly couples and small families looking for a central location in downtown Monterey.

Hotel Pacific is conveniently located in downtown Monterey, close to several of the area's attractions. For those in town for business, Monterey Conference Center is just four minutes away by foot. It's a six-minute walk to Fisherman's Wharf, where there are several restaurants, bars, and shops. It's a 10-minute walk to Del Monte Beach. Monterey State Beach is an eight-minute drive from the hotel. Cannery Row, a popular beachfront road packed with other hotels, restaurants, bars, and shops, is a four-minute drive or 17 minutes on public transit. Monterey Bay Aquarium, located at the end of Cannery Row, is a five-minute drive. Pacific Grove and Carmel are a five-minute and 12-minute drive away, respectively. The area is well connected with public transport, with a trolley stop right outside the hotel. Monterey Regional Airport is 10 minutes away by car.

The 105 guest rooms at Hotel Pacific are all suites with warm coastal-inspired interiors. The decor is a combination of contemporary and classic with hardwood floors mixed with fun-patterned carpets, antique-like furniture, white wooden ceilings, white and cream walls, contemporary artwork, and crisp white linens. Each suite features a lounge area with gas fireplace, which make the rooms cozy in the winter months, as well as a furnished balcony, which is ideal for relaxing on during the summer months. Some rooms have sea views, while the rooms on the lower floors overlook the central courtyard. All include ceiling fans, flat-screen TVs, microwaves, mini-fridges, sleeper sofas, telephones, safes, iron and ironing boards, and free Wi-Fi. There is no air-conditioning available throughout the entire hotel. Bathrooms feature walk-in showers and shower/tub combos with hairdryers, Bathe toiletries, and coffeemakers. Past guests have complained about housekeeping and maintenance issues. 

Hotel Pacific offers few features compared to other hotels with similar rates in the area. Guests receive a free buffet breakfast, though it's limited to cold items like cereals, fruits, and muffins. The breakfast area can also get really busy, with many guests noting that it's better to eat on the early side. Apart from the buffet breakfast, there are no other dining or bar facilities available. There is a cornered off outdoor hot tub, though no on-site swimming pool. Guests also have the option to receive in-room spa treatments (for an additional fee). There are four on-site event spaces, with the largest catering for up to 70 people. There's also a small business center. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. The on-site parking has an additional fee.
