Comfort Suites Moab near Arches National Park

Like the small town that surrounds it, this hotel caters to leisure travelers here to visit the area's national parks. The two-story lobby has an airy and outdoorsy ambiance that feels appropriate for its setting. The living room's casual, wood-frame furniture, with faded, blue and red cushions and leather ottomans could easily be found in a cozy mountain cabin. There's free hot coffee here, which makes plopping down in front of the natural stone fireplace even more appealing. The space doesn't tend to fill up with guests, but the breakfast room gets quite crowded during peak hours. It’s a roomy area, however, and designed to handle the traffic flow well most of the time. Past guests often comment on how clean and mellow this modern hotel is -- and it does, indeed, have a relaxed vibe. 

Comfort Suites is conveniently located on North Main Street in downtown Moab, surrounded by shops, restaurants, outdoor adventure outfitters, and other hotels that line the main drag. The road gets busy during the day, but quiets down at night. Several fast-food and full-service restaurants are within a four-minute walk. It’s a 10-minute drive to Arches National Park Visitors Center and a 33-minute drive to Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park. Driving to Zion National Park takes about five hours, while Salt Lake City International Airport is a little less than four hours by car.

Guest rooms here have a fresh, modern look, that makes them a standout among other chain accommodations. The sleek, dark-wood furniture, contemporary desk lamps, and white bedding accented with a deep shade of red give spaces polish, and details like colorful photos of red rock formations on walls add a sense of place. Suites have a studio-style configuration, with partial walls dividing the bedroom and sitting areas. Standard amenities include 37-inch flat-screen TVs, microwaves, mini-fridges, coffeemakers with free coffee, irons, and free Wi-Fi, but units lack safes. 

Bathrooms are roomy and have wide granite vanities, and are equipped with hairdryers and toiletries. Some units have walk-in showers, and others have shower/tub combos. Suites are generally quiet, and those on the top (third) floor away from the road tend to have the least ambient noise. 

Comfort Suites has an attractive amenities package for a comfortable stay. There's no full-service restaurant, but a free hot breakfast buffet that includes eggs, waffles, and fresh fruit. There's free coffee all day in the lobby, and a marketplace that sells snacks, soft drinks, ice cream, and frozen entrees. An expanse of red rocks can be seen from the outdoor heated pool, whirlpool, surrounding patio, which has plenty of tables and loungers. The fitness center is in a small room, but it has a good selection of Life Fitness cardio equipment, including treadmills with personal video screens. Free weights also are provided. Other amenities include a business center with two computers and a printer, a laundry room with two washer/dryers plus valet laundry service, and a bike rack next to the parking lot, where parking is free and there are spaces for larger vehicles, like RVs. Free weekday newspapers are available in the lobby, and Wi-Fi is free throughout.
