Hotel Club Sur Menorca

This is a crowded tourist resort inside a dated, blocky white building. Vast lawns are dotted with sunbeds and straw umbrellas and a few palm trees. Inside, the spacious lobby offers free Wi-Fi and tons of seating on couches and wooden chairs at long tables. The decor is fairly modern and stylish in areas, and more dated and worn in others. Most guests don't leave the property for the duration of their stay, and they tend to spend most of their time lounging around the pool. The water park, which lacks shade, is newer than other areas of the property and a hit with families. However, there's a fee to access the water park, which can get busy with locals on weekends, and is subject to loud music by the entertainment team. Lots of British and Russian tourists tend to stay here, and travelers should expect to wait in long lines for all-inclusive drinks at the bar. 

Hotel Club Sur Menorca is set away from everything, so travelers will likely need a car to get around. There are a few bars/eateries within five minutes' walk, however. The property also offers a free shuttle to Punta Prima Beach from May to October, as well as to the capital city, Mahon, and major attractions. Biniancolla, a small fishing village, is a five-minute walk from the hotel, while the charming seaside village of Binibeca is a five- to 10-minute drive. Punta Prima Beach is a 20-minute walk or a few minutes' drive via shuttle bus. For more action, the city of Maó (home to Fort Marlborough, 16th-century Castillo San Felipe, and the Museu de Menorca) is a 20-minute drive. The island's ancient capital of Ciutadella is just under an hour away by car. Torre d’en Galmés, a Talayotic archaeological site, is a half-hour away by car. Menorca Airport is a 20- to 25-minute drive from the resort. 

Rooms are tidy, but some could use better cleaning and can feel humid and stuffy. The bare-bones, somewhat dated decor features a red-and-white color scheme, including white walls and tile floors. There are white nightstands and desks, as well as closets with mirrored doors. Double, Triple, and Quadruple Rooms are available. All beds are twin-size (pushed together for doubles), and larger rooms also have sofabeds. Amenities include flat-screen TVs, safes, and air-conditioning -- but no coffee- and tea-making facilities. White bathrooms have narrow stall showers and only packages of hand soaps are provided. Rooms have balconies with plastic furniture and overlook the sea, pool, or hotel gardens. 

Two-Bedroom Bungalows have slightly more modern decor and kitchenettes with stovetops, sinks, mini-fridges, and limited cookware. Bathrooms are larger and have shower/tub combos. There is no Wi-Fi in rooms. 

This all-inclusive property offers an array of on-site features. There's a buffet restaurant serving Mediterranean cuisine for all meals, and food gets mixed reviews from guests -- it can be lukewarm and bland, according to some. There are also pool and lobby bars, but some bar snacks and drinks cost extra. Two pools, including a large option and a smaller family pool, are available to guests. Families also have access to an outdoor playground and a wooden building that holds the kids' club. The water park has colorful slides for kids and adults, and a pirate ship, although access costs extra. The range of sports facilities includes sand volleyball, ping-pong, and a fitness room. However, some facilities, such as the volleyball court, may be under construction as of late May 2017. The entertainment team provides shows and music at the water park, and options include a kids' disco. Free parking near the hotel is available. Wi-Fi is free in the lobby, but the signal is slow.
