Modern and centrally located on the edge of downtown, the
Hilton Garden Inn Minneapolis Downtown is a mid-range chain hotel primarily popular with business
travelers. The lobby is sleek and trendy, and the rooms have understated, chain-like modern decor. Both the business center and gym are more extensive and modern than most, there are extensive meeting and event spaces, and the heated indoor pool attracts both kids and adults. Scene

Bright and contemporary lobby with cozy fireplace alcoves and business traveler-friendly accents

The Hilton Garden Inn
Minneapolis Downtown may be a chain hotel, but the interior design in the common spaces is a step above what one might expect from a mid-range chain. The lobby's decor is contemporary and bright, with oblong and oval light fixtures hanging from
the ceiling, multiple alcoves with steel-plated fireplaces, geometric-patterned couches, and light-colored leather chairs. Most of the wall paneling is wood, but there are pops of color in
the form of live plants, modern artwork, and large windows. Coffee and lemon-water are available in the lobby for guests at all hours, and the fireplaces make for cozy spots for guests to lounge.A
similar style to the lobby is seen in the on-site restaurant, with classic wood panels
contrasting with the bright orange and teal seats; the restaurant primarily caters to guests, so you shouldn't have trouble getting a table. Similarly, the pool shouldn't get too busy, although it's small enough to get noisy when there are children playing.

Location

Walking distance from the Convention Center and downtown Minneapolis

Since the Hilton Garden Inn Minneapolis
Downtown primarily caters to business travelers, it makes perfect sense that
the hotel is located across the street from the Convention Center (and around a five-minute walk to its entrance). There are many
other restaurants and tourist attractions in the surrounding area, including Loring
Park and Franklin Steele Park. The light rail and central Nicollet Mall are just a few blocks away. The Minneapolis-Saint Paul International
Airport is about a 20- to 25-minute drive away and transportation can be arranged with the hotel.

Rooms

Spacious, standard chain rooms with free HBO, Keurig coffeemakers, and signature beds

The modern, understated rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn Minneapolis
Downtown have all the high-end amenities one expects from this business-friendly chain, including a flat-screen TV with free HBO, a business-friendly desk with two
telephones and an ergonomic chair, and the brand's signature Garden Sleep System beds. (The softness of each side of the bed can be adjusted, but the system can be a bit confusing for some.) Rooms are relatively spacious, each with
a microwave, mini-fridge, and Keurig coffeemaker.
Headboards and furniture are dark wood laminate, contrasting pleasantly with the bright white linens.
The walls are beige but the large windows -- many with views over downtown -- bring light into the otherwise muted rooms. Bathrooms are standard, with granite vanities, Neutrogena bath products, and shower/tub combos.

Features

Fully equipped for business travelers, with extras like an indoor pool and modern gym

While families and couples are certainly
welcome at the Hilton Garden Inn Minneapolis Downtown, the majority of guests
are business travelers, which is reflected in the amenities. There are a 24-hour convenience market for snacks and sundries, free Wi-Fi, a larger-than-normal business center, a modern gym, a boarding pass-printing kiosk in the lobby, and meeting rooms. The hotel also has a small indoor pool lined with plastic chairs (not loungers). The on-site restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Families staying at the Hilton Garden Inn can take
advantage of cribs and highchairs.
